Have you ever heard of a classic or bestseller that turned out to be a total disappointment? Everyone likes it, but you've wondered why?
For me, it's "Dune" by Frank Herbert. I was looking forward to reading this classic of science fiction, but it reads like a medieval novel written as homework by a ninth grader. The pages are filled with conversations about trivia. Esoteric, pathetic ramblings and little going on. I understand that the story about worms and stuff is kind of creative, but for a book of this length it's just lame.
