For sure, it seems highly dependent on the exact system whether it likes it or not, in addition to how frequently the heat runs and how much it can charge its battery.

I ended up running new wiring for my two heat-only zones to avoid all the headache. Before that, using a 24VAC wall transformer with wire running up to the thermostat worked well too, but was kinda unsightly.

That's what the other person is describing.

If you only have two wires to your thermostat, they are designed to be connected or not connected; that's the only way the system is designed to communicate. The thermostat can't power itself from two disconnected wires, and if it connects them, then it turns the heat on. Enter the Nest Power Connector that only kinda connects the wires...enough to pull a bit of power for the thermostat, but not enough to actually turn on the heat.

Opinions will vary whether that is okay or not, but it is objectively using things in a way they weren't designed, and the majority opinion of HVAC professionals seems to be that it's no bueno.

So then...don't. Surely you see how it's a bit self-defeating to make a comment to someone and tag them while saying it's pointless to talk to them, right? You are allowed to just...not comment.

No, not really.

I see you saying that kids still get run over, then saying it hasn't happened in RI, then guessing about other what happens in other states. All I was asking was to see your source for saying that monitors don't do anything. Surely you read something about kids still getting run over despite monitors and that's what you're basing your opinion on and not just pulling it out of your ass, right? Because that would be silly.

>So if the temp is low inside the house, the actual pipes can drop way below that temp (50 in this case) and get to freezing.

On top of that, the cabinets installed along those outside walls will further insulate the pipes from the warm inside air, allowing them to get cooler than you might think.

If you need/want to have your house get below 60ish, you might want to consider leaving cabinet doors open to help prevent freezing.

Can someone help me unravel this? It seems like there are multiple things intertwined here.

There is one group that seems to be local to my area that is pro-Jewish in name, but also anti-DEI, anti-CRT, anti-BLM, transphobic, homophobic, anti-muslim, alt-right, pro-police, book-banning, conspiracy theory peddlers. Specifically, this one: https://www.facebook.com/RI4Israel

That group seems to have many joint events with the Jewish Alliance RI, but I have no idea just how philosophically aligned they are as a whole. Is that alt-right pro-Israel group seem as extremist to the other Jewish groups in the state, or are they just the ones saying the quiet part the most out loud (or at least, closest to my ears)?

I saw the founder of that FB group stand up at a school committee meeting to declare that there is no racism or discrimination in our town so the DEI committee should be disbanded, while draped in an "end Jewish hate" flag. It was bafflingly incongruous.

To be clear, I roundly and unequivocally denounce any and all anti-semitism, but I am more hesitant to endorse Jewish-social-political groups that seem to have ulterior motives. But mostly, I could just use some help learning more about them.

edit: okay, whew. Scrolling through the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island's FB page it seems they are faaaar from aligned with the Coalition for Israel one. I see they have posted in support for Providence Pride and the LGBTQ+ community as a whole, hosted anti-disinformation workshops, hosted a nonpartisan panel discussion with the Prov mayor candidates ahead of the primaries, and bunch of all the other far-from-political community events you'd expect a "real" nonprofit to organize.

If the dealer is paying, go to the best place possible. Some dealer-attached body shop that generally does insurance work will generally be the highest quality and highest cost option, compared to a smaller paint shop that focuses more on self-paid paint jobs where the pressure will be to lower costs.

Design within the same class is independent from number. So your number would be 123•456 whether you have passenger wave, passenger lighthouse, etc.

I'm not sure if they would duplicate numbers across classes, like if there's a passenger 123•456 and also a commercial 123•456, but I wouldn't imagine so.

It's definitely nice as a human visitor. I'm far from an expert, but I think in the range of zoos, they're solidly on the "display animals for profit" side of the spectrum than the "doing actual conversation work" end.

In contrast, from what I understand the Mystic Aquarium's animals are rescues that cannot be rehabilitated to survive in the wild, and they're what end up on display. But for all those individuals you see at the zoo, there are dozens of others you don't see because they're rehabilitated and back in the ocean.
