Parking enforcement used to be much more aggressive before the pandemic. They really slacked off and have somehow gotten lazier with the reduction in alternate street-side parking.

Traffic enforcement by the police has been shit for as long as I can remember.

You can also 1) walk slower, 2) just turnaround and start back as if you forgot something or 3) look around in bewilderment as if you can’t figure out where that annoying sound is coming from.

Everywhere along Grand is just awful lately.

My wife is very noticeably pregnant and is moving somewhat slower these days as a result. She was crossing Columbus at Jersey Ave with our toddler when some asshole in an SUV rolled down his window and yelled at her to "hurry the fuck up" so he could turn faster.

I've lived here a long time and the roads have gotten safer for pedestrians in a lot of ways but there are a lot of crazies out there who do not have the patience, restraint, and foresight that should be necessary to have a driver's license. This is a good Tort law question! Management had constructive notice to a defect on their property and had a duty to fix/repair it, I wonder if OP assumed some risk by using that lot because they knew of a potentially dangerous situation there?

Out of curiosity  – Was there another way in/out of the parking? Did the property require your car traverse that particular area?

Ah, that sucks. Real estate is a scummy profession with terrible ethics standards and limited disclosures on conflicts. I’d name the agent — or the brokerage they worked for at least — so people are aware since it’s a small market with a lot of repeat players.

Daniel Lin from Lin Home Inspection. He was very thorough and had some follow up recommendations for roofing, underground oil tanks, etc that were a life saver when we were looking to buy.

Edit: based on other posters, YMMV. I had a great experience and felt issues were properly assessed, especially compared to my first home buying experience where the home inspector was dog shit.
