I didn’t say it’s a lovely area, it’s definitely crustier and has higher crime rates than other parts of the city.

But Worcester as a whole is generally a very safe city, and Belmont Hill is a far cry from codman Sq. or the H-block in Boston.

Omg, and don’t you DARE think about putting it out at 6:30am because that’s the same as leaving it out all night.

We put ours out the night before and have never had an animal rip our bags open. Fuck them. (*I need to go knock on wood now because I’m sure I somehow just jinxed myself into a hefty fine)

There are people on here who live in the suburbs and only come into Worcester for dinner or a show. They act like it’s war zone and comments about some neighborhoods are routinely “don’t go there” because of racism/classicism/parroting crap someone else said.

That hill is steep - be very careful when it’s icy/snowy. Especially if coming down a side street towards Belmont.

The beer garden has a giant tv that they claim is the largest in the city. They usually open at 11, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they open at 10 for the game.

I’m assuming these panels are leased.

Did your attorney not review the lease contract since it was part of the sale? You were responsible for doing the due diligence to investigate and understand the terms of the lease contract prior to buying the house. Your attorney was literally the perfect person to seek assistance from in that effort.

I know the housing market has been insane and places are going under contract quickly, but there’s a reason it’s harder to sell a house with leased panels.

Also, it’s kind of crazy what can be easily found via a very quick Google: https://www.realsimple.com/work-life/money/saving/solar-energy-system-lease Lease buyout options When it comes to buying out a lease agreement, there's generally a few options. If you've leased from Sunrun, a company that pioneered the solar lease and solar power purchase agreement (PPA) structure back in 2007, the options include a cash buyout, or a full amount solar lease buyout.Jul 20, 2021

I’ve been sitting at nu cafe with headphones facing a wall. Not the quietest, but it’s nice and bright which helps me not feel like I’m missing out on daylight.

So, UMass Pediatrics ER is being used to house pediatrics patients because they are over capacity due to the ridiculously high need for inpatient pediatric beds right now with RSV and other illnesses running rampant in kids (if you have kids get their flu shots/Covid boosters if you haven’t already). UMass only has 30 inpatient pediatric beds (bc reimbursement rates are lower for kids so why would central MA have more, amirite?) and they’re at 115% currently. Because the overflow is bedding in the pediatric ER, it is closed to new patients, which means kids have to use the regular ER.

The adult ER is definitely not a great place for any child given that it’s the only Trauma 1 ER in all of central MA and that often means long waits due to triaging really serious emergencies. Kids don’t do patience and when they are in pain they definitely don’t do long waits, so it absolutely puts a ton of added pressure on the ER staff to manage the kids + the adults.

It’s basically a shit show.

I work in the mercantile complex. There’s definitely a need for soup, salads and sandwiches that don’t suck. There’s plenty of people in those buildings on any given day, but they won’t bother if your food isn’t good.

The lunch options in the area that aren’t busy don’t offer anything worth buying. And based on the number of times this topic has come up in my office, no one is excited for ziggy bombs and we are all tired of falafel.

This is yet another reason why a strong mayor system is a better form of government for a city the size of Worcester. The electorate should get the deciding vote on who runs the city, not the city council. Sure, at the end of their terms we can vote them out for not even trying, but it doesn’t revolve the fact that the city manager is untouchable via public mandate.

And Batista may very well be the best person for the job, but he also might not be.

You can Google crime stats. Or look at Zillow/trulia/redfin if you want street specific stuff. No one here can give you as much objective info as you can find online.

If you want subjective - we all have different personal tolerance levels, so does it really matter what anyone thinks if they aren’t you? Also, there have been numerous other posters asking this. Search the sub.

Edit - no one is “catching a bullet” in Worcester, so if you only want to live near white people then, like Icy noted, Paxton it is.

The JCC and YMCA don’t take infants. First friends is great.

We go to Child health associates. They have two locations and are the only pediatricians associated with Boston Childrens in central MA (important if necessary, probably irrelevant if your child is healthy their entire life).
