Walk around and also pull up construction permits. Many cases of cheap/lazy contractors that don't want to pay or manage dumpsters. They steal cans, throw construction debris in there, then leave it out on the next block or so or just take it out of the area and dump it in an abandoned lot.

You need to have distinctive borings/paint on your can and also lock it up when not trash day and even direct cameras at it.

Let your ANC Commissioner know and maybe there's a pattern of same persons.

Howdy and welcome to DC! I often take a bike and the shoelace express to get to my favorite places to bird in dc: Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, Kingman & Heritage Islands, and Anacostia Park (roller rink/bridge area). I'm on the board of the DC Audubon Society (a local, volunteer-run bird-friendly group) and you can sign up for our newsletter or Eventbrite to first know about events. Hope to see you out there!

Well, on this — although not really a tiny thing to fix, Metro really desperately needs more entrances for stops.

So many stops have only one or two entrances, often on opposites sides of a single block. Platforms are gigantically long relative to many metros (as if we needed more proof it's not really a metro and actually a commuter rail). Putting entrances/exists on the far end of each station can save folks a lot of time. It's always annoying when I literally walk the entire length of a station above ground just because there's no entrance on the other side

His comment was racist as hell, but the schools here (overall) really do stink. Hard to keep enough teachers in the district (I mean, in ANY US school district) with such low pay, low numbers, and growing/unreasonable expectations. Teachers aren’t valued enough, and it’s really not their fault these kids are failing. It’s the political school administrators and the parents who are to blame.

The rule should be only the folks who end up with these “graduates” in their workforce can comment, because parents overestimate their little snowflakes’ intelligence. Most of these kids can barely read, so I have no clue how they’re graduating from the 8th grade, let alone high school. It’s an embarrassment.
