The chicken at Zaytinya is halal. Last time I went was in 2019, so you might want to call to confirm.

Frankly I miss the old school DC cam control propulsion system in the 1k cars. As later segment were added the train were allowed to strut their stuff. Back then WMATA ran the 1k cars like scalded dogs. It was not uncommon for trains to hit 65 MPH between Foggy bottom and Rosslyn and north of Dupont Circle. The stations in subway in my option looked cleaner without all of overly redundant signage, (I am a Massimo Vignelli purest), the passenger information displays, added exposed conduits and equipment cabinets on the ends of the platforms. I am also not a big fan of the stainless steel escalators. During the early years the people that ran and maintained the system felt like one big family.

As someone who only sees r/EarthPorn posts when they hit the front page… OP was rather restrained in the editing, by their standards lol. At least this one still kinda resembles the location.

A little late for work today because period decided to start right when I was about to leave and had to do a quick wardrobe change. How is this a win for mojo Monday? It didn't start 5 minutes later while I was biking to work, in which case I would have looked like I was involved in a crime scene and would have had to go right back home, lost even more time, and maybe lost some clothes. Small victory over uterus.

Also, that bike ride felt great.

What’s really not hype is the state of the sidewalks around the tidal basin.

For such a big tourist spot you’d think that NPS would actually take care of it.

They are definitely in other places besides Japan and DC.

Idk it took me 15 min to bike from cap hill and then 15 min back 🤷🏽‍♂️ - I went in with the expectation there’d be crowds and was not bothered. Probably cause I was enjoying the great weather with the thousands of people there.

Went on a lovely hike yesterday and my Achilles feels better today than it did before the hike, so win? Still might die during the CUCB.

Awwww. Thanks for making such an assumption. I’ve actually lived by several large sports stadiums throughout my years on this fine planet. Most people seem to understand they can get hit by cars if they go in the streets in those big cities. Not sure why you think DC should be different than LA, Anaheim, Seattle, or, oh wait, Chinatown in DC… they are way worse down by the blossoms.

And I fully support peaceful protests, especially when people don’t litter. Littering is not friendly. Which is something else that the oh so lovely cherry blossom tourists do a shit ton of.
