Maybe I'm crazy, but I like it a lot. I've never seen a cherry blossoms shot like this.
Cherry blossoms shots are nice, but they get terribly repetitive. This one's different. I like it.

Or maybe actually address crime and make trains more efficient so people will ride, just a thought!

It took me about half an hour to walk back yesterday, although granted some of that was thanks to crowds. Probably would have been closer to 20 otherwise. So doable, but not what I would call close.

Live in Brunswick and commute to DC occasionally for work, and while the current hours serve that they don’t facilitate going into the city for cultural evening events or getting home late after happy hours. Really stoked about the potentiality for expanded hours and reverse peak service in this survey, and hope that wins priority over expanding routes. While I’d love ALL options to win out, implementing reverse service seems the lowest hanging fruit.

Brunswick to DC on the rare occasion I have to go in and totally agree, this route is the best. They’re actually doing an survey right now to see about expanding running hours and potentially extending access further along the corridor.

Thank you! This would be amazing - I will go fill out the survey now. It would be amazing to just take a train out to the trails at Harper’s Ferry.

Parking on the freeway seems massively more inconvenient.

Good news! There's currently a study going on right now about ways to improve the Brunswick Line, including midday, reverse peak, and weekend service! There's a survey on the website as well as an email address you can use to send in feedback about the proposals. https://www.mta.maryland.gov/marc-brunswick-study

It's like a 10 minute walk from the Smithsonian metro stop to the tidal basin and 15 to L'Enfant. Maybe a couple extra minutes because of all the crowds but that is really not a bad walk.

Reply to comment by puttinonthefoil in I like the old Cherry Blossom Festival card by dmanfire101
I don’t think it’s bad per se but I’ve seen other cards that had nicely edited photos (2018/2019 I think?), and this one was just a super intense HDR. Maybe I’m picky because I’m into photography but cherry blossom cards are among the cooler ones Metro puts out each year, so I thought they’d have something better imo.

Now imagine what would happen if people wanted to actually invest in consistent and efficient public transit and protected bike lines instead of parking and highways…
