When I'm too lazy to make my own bagels Bullfrog is my go-to.
Everything bagel with egg, extra bacon, cheddar cheese and Sriracha mayo is one of if not the best bagel sandwich in DC.

ok but not letting customers have a place to sit for an hour is also a dick move. Not everything has to be 'grab and go' these days

People who turn cafes into their telework office and camp out all day are a menace.

I never understood the Tony's boner on this sub.
Yeah, it's cheap, but that's like all they have going for them. It's slow as hell and the food is ridiculously plain - a breakfast sandwich is just an egg and Sysco bacon on wonder bread. The pancakes are clearly Krusteaz food service mix and corn syrup "syrup."
If all you want is a cheap bland breakfast you could make the exact same thing cheaper and faster at home.

Pre-COVID less people would post up for 4-8 hours a day to WFH

Coffeeshops are businesses and people sitting down for hours after ordering a $5 drinks costs them money

If you’re into running or walking (or would be down to give it a try), I would recommend DC’s premier running club, the DC frontrunners. I joined this year and it’s been great!
Hope you find your people here. Thankfully, DC has a large and vibrant LGBTQ+ community.

You should checkout Meetup for some groups in the area that meet up regularly. It’s a great way to meet people! Also I know Go Gay DC hosts a lot of events like brunch and coffee chats. Again- found them through Meetup. And as mentioned above, As You Are on 8th street is a great space to meetup and chill.

Never, ever go to see the Cherry Blossoms on the weekend.
And if you do, never, ever drive. If you are in the burbs like I am now without a metro - go to a station or park in Virginia and walk across the bridge.
But it’s not worth it. The Mall will be packed and you won’t even get close to the trees.

Solid State Bookstore runs some book clubs. Maybe you can read and make friends by joining one? I haven’t tried any of them (busy with a book club at my work atm) but they’re on my “Maybe Someday” list of things to do

Good to know that the upper level is game. I went there, wasn’t sure, so I stayed on the bottom cause I didn’t want to get kicked out haha.

DC zoning limits have a large number of issues which strike me as outright arbitrary. This is one of them.

Do you think every single person driving around the tidal basin to see the cherry blossoms is incapable of walking or using public transit?
