Quite worse indeed. But that doesn't mean things are acceptable now. DC now being better than things were during the days of the crack epidemic, street turf shootouts, Marion Barry driving the city to insolvency, etc. is like finding out you have the flu instead of long COVID--it could be worse but it still sucks.

I stayed there during Snowmaggedon. The power went out at my house and we drove down there in 3 feet of snow at 10:00 pm. It was me, two 13 year olds and my mom. Our room was facing east and we had the most glorious sunrise (forgot to close the blinds) down the river with snow gleaming. They gave us a late checkout and we had lunch and by the time we got home the power was on. A very good memory.

Yeah it would be almost impossible to hold the flowers and the monument in focus especially since the lens I have has loses a bit of focus at the edges naturally.

I think they early diesel buses couldn’t even do the hills without heavy mods, heard rumor that the buses they got to try in replace cable cars in the 50s needed to engines.
