I’d fully believe gunshots, but also I lived next to a place where the ATV asshats used to love to ride, and you could hear it for 5 mins before and 5 mins after they went past.

Possibly but family members heard it from nearly a mile away so I'm not sure

Reporters tweeted that he stopped being seen around town and tweeting around 3/11 and the Mayor was on calls with advisors that week, so likely before the bus.

Do you think we'll be okay if we wait until Monday to go? We figure Sunday will be busy and aren't quite ready for today...

There’s one particular group that purposely backfires their ATVs and it can sound like gunfire. I think that’s what this person was suggesting.

Is that right? Huh. Somehow we have had the fest every year w/o a bus.
I saw jokes online before his announcement asking if the bus came with a hot tub.
His alleged sex pest behavior likely predated the bus.

Read that link comments,,,.... employee allegedly sexually harrassed and guess it was prior to March 11 because he stopped being seen around town and tweeting.

It links to the dcist article where:
The only thing Bowser would confirm is that the allegations that led to Falcicchio’s departure did not have anything to do with rumored accusations of misbehavior on a four-day, five-city bus tour sponsored by the city’s government to promote tourism ahead of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. But multiple sources who contacted DCist/WAMU over the weekend said rumors of Falcicchio’s misconduct were widespread.
And I have read that other places… something had to have happened

Get yourself a peak design sling bag! Great for a camera and no one can tell it’s really a camera bag unless they know, and it’ll protect your stuff!

The trees at the tidal basin are yoshino trees and they won't be in bloom anymore. Other varieties like the Kanzan trees may still be in bloom, but there's not a single place full of Kanzan trees the way the tidal basin is planted with yoshinos. It's still a very pretty season though.

Reply to So it’s Hummingbird migration season and I’ve been wanting to see one in real life but have yet to luck out. Any tips or locations I can head to see one? by SimpleCheesecake9535
I lived in old town Alexandria the past few years and regularly saw hummingbirds in my yard and my neighbors’ yards. They’re attracted to any area with lots of flowers that produce nectar. My go-to hummingbird plant is zinnias, especially the giant ones (you can grow them in containers if you have limited space). They grow amazingly well in our hot summers and attracted hummingbirds as well as goldfinch. I would see hummingbirds several times a day for months, although I typically didn’t start seeing them with regularity until at least late May/early June. If you’re trying to see them in Alexandria I’d suggest walking through the alleys behind the houses rather than the sidewalk in the front as you’ll be more likely to spot them in the flowering trees and there’s fewer people/traffic to scare them off. They can be shy so if you can find a spot that is relatively calm you’ll have a better chance of seeing them. They have to feed very frequently so if you figure out where they feed you shouldn’t have to wait long to spot them. I used to see mine about every 2 hours starting around 6/7am. Good luck!

I haven't heard of any subway lines being shutdown, they usually threaten to cut low ridership suburban branches.

I’m a half block from Ft Reno and they were definitely in this vicinity - I heard them loud and clear in the same pattern. There was also a group of dirt bikes going around beforehand. They had been going up and down Wisc Ave a few times tonight - back and forth btw Tenleytown and Friendship, not just passing through. I’m shocked there hasn’t been more chatter on Twitter or Nextdoor
