I've never used them as a measure of anything for TV shows as places like this sub has me covered and have read it daily for I don't know how long, over a decade? but I used to use the Oscars as a prompt to try some movies. I don't watch many movies so I assumed the Oscar nominees were the creme de la creme, reality was that although some would be really good most were clearly just made with the Oscars in mind.

I see the whole awards scene as them all just patting each other in the back, it has little to do with us the viewers.

as much as I didn't like the alert pilot, I did watch the last 2 minutes of every episode until the finale. enough to follow the overarching thing without suffering through the weekly cases and the not really likable main characters. still didn't hold my interest enough to do the same with the last 2 eps.

the uk original of accused was a mixed bag (it's to be expected from an anthology series) but it had some really strong eps, hoping for the same with the remake. it'll have more eps (15) in s1 alone than the uk version altogether (6+4).

For me, Justified has the absolute worst intro song. Like, I can't fall asleep to the show, because I don't want to curse myself by waking up to that song. Great show, terrible theme.

While his TV work is nothing short of fantastic, his novel Interworld (with Neil Gaiman) had a profound influence on me as a kid--it was the first book I read that really touched on Multiverse stuff, in ways I didn't see again until Everything Everywhere All At Once.
