This has always been my opinion, even during the show’s run. When the film came out I just logically assumed they would retire it from television and make a new film once every two or three years. After all, this was still in the time when film was by far the preferred and more esteemed art form. There wasn’t a Sopranos-level series on a dozen different streaming services. But logic never got in the way of a studio executive trying to squeeze blood from a turnip.

“Did you see that Jim Carey documentary where he stayed in character as Andy Kaufman? I actually watched that documentary in character. My character hated it. My character found it narcissistic and pretentious. Which is too bad because I think I would’ve liked it.”

Big fan of the game. Loved the show, love these characters and this story. It’s a 10/10 from me and one of my favorite shows of all time now. I don’t think people need to be choosing which is better, the show or the game. Both are peak in their respective mediums.

>How does the show compare the original video game? Does it surpass it or does it fall short? What does it gain from being a TV show and what does it long from not being a video game?

I mean the original will always be better, as the game is pretty much flawless. The show does come close and I'm very glad it exists. The show got to extend the prologue and had some standout moments that were new, like "I'm failing in my sleep" and "It wasn't time that did it"

>Will it lead to more video game adaptations?

The real question is: Will it lead to more GOOD video game adaptions

>How does the show also compare to the zombie hit The Walking Dead that ended recently?

The Walking Dead is kinda bad outside of season 1 so...

>How does the show compare to other beloved HBO shows? Is it better than HBO's other big hit House of Dragon?

I also love HotD, but yeah. This isn't any kind of knock on HotD though.

> How does it compare to the critical and awards darling that is Succession?

Not the biggest fan of Succession specifically (so far at least, currently in season 2 to catch up for the big finish I'm hearing about), but it's prestige TV and I wouldn't be surprised to see it with all the other HBO genre shows on a "best of" list with Deadwood, Game of Thrones, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, Rome, etc.

He's part of the subset of the Hollywood MAGA crowd that were able to get by on their good looks. I include Dean Cain and Antonio Sabato Jr among them.

Also, Sorbo's Kull the Conqueror movie was going to be- at least in the mid 80's- the third Conan the Barbarian movie. In short, thanks to Sorbo's input, it became a glorified feature length episode of his Hercules series, staying well within his comfort zone.

Michael Keaton turned down the role of Dr. Jack Shephard on LOST.

Originally the plan was to kill Jack off in The Pilot episode but the executives at ABC didn't think that was a good idea and wanted Jack to be the main character. Michael Keaton didn't want to commit to a series and the rest is history.
