Reply to Automated enforcement of water conservation rules in Fresno, California led to a decrease in summer water use and violations of conservation rules (relative to households subject to in-person inspections). This program massively increased consumer complaints, ultimately causing its cancellation. by smurfyjenkins

I made no comment about banning or not banning anything. My only point was just that the assault weapons ban was 99% useless, and that handguns are the bigger issue but are largely ignored.

Reply to The advantages of living in cities for children and adolescents’ healthy growth and development are shrinking across much of the world, according to new study. by chrisdh79
From the article: This is according to a new global analysis of trends in child and adolescent height and body mass index (BMI) led by Imperial College London and published in Nature.
The research, by a global consortium of more than 1500 researchers and physicians, analysed height and weight data from 71 million children and adolescents (aged 5 to 19 years) across urban and rural areas of 200 countries from 1990 to 2020.
Cities can provide a multitude of opportunities for better education, nutrition, sports and recreation, and healthcare that contributed to school-aged children and adolescents living in cities being taller than their rural counterparts in the 20th century in all but a few wealthy countries.
The new study found that in the 21st century, this urban height advantage shrank in most countries as a result of accelerating improvements in height for children and adolescents in rural areas.
The study also assessed children’s BMI - an indicator of whether they have a healthy weight for their height. The researchers found that on average children living in cities had a slightly higher BMI than children in rural areas in 1990. By 2020, BMI averages rose for most countries, albeit faster for urban children, except in sub-Saharan Africa and south Asia, where BMI rose faster in rural areas.

We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point,
We go round every two hundred milion years,
And our galaxy is only one millions of billions in this amazing and expanding universe.

It's really badly worded alright. One gallery sticker might say "untitled" - Artist Name. Under that though there's another sticker detailing info about the artist, the medium, process etc. It's often why artists sell pieces the day they have a showing - the artist is there to meet and greet and explain their work (albeit some like to give no info about it and leave it up to the viewer to interpret the work and draw their own conclusions)

unless the law says something like "Everybody, including every toddler, is not only allowed but required to carry a loaded gun at all times"

Homicide means killing someone for any reason, including self defense. Hence the FBI publishes stats on justifiable homicides.

In this study it specifically refers to children under the age of 5, but stats for overall homicide rates are very similar.
Justifiable homicide is relatively rare, but likely has the same pattern.

When the manipulation is causing harm to you or others.
There is nothing wrong with manipulating yourself or others to be more productive, to engage in win win, mutually beneficial outcomes, and so on. It becomes pathological when you are using manipulation to essentially steal from others, engaging them in scenarios where you disproportionately benefit at their cost, or/and where you harm yourself.

Republicans are also holding back affordable or universal healthcare to treat people with mental health issues, actively promoting hate and violence towards gays, trans, minorities and their allies, and opposing anything to help those in poverty including food stamps and free school lunches for kids.
Somehow, even completely removing guns from the equation, it's still Republicans fault.

There's no such thing as justified homicide. Self-defense would not be considered homicide.

Right, but those are tidal forces, and how much of those you experience depends not only on what your orbit looks like but also on how big you are (and how you're oriented). So I'm not sure how you arrived at the 50G number, there must be some hidden assumptions.
