>this has nothing to do with right/left politics

The right exists to rationalize elite worship, while the left exists to destroy it. They’ll both claim the latter but if you pay any attention at all, it’s obvious which one is lying. Those are the sides, and if you don’t pick and pick the correct one, you’re giving up your vote to the entrenched power structures represented by the right.

Limitations per abstract:

“As highlighted, our study’s main limitation is that we did not include a healthy control group and did not collect longitudinal data. Therefore, we cannot test for causal relationships. Furthermore, future studies should build on our findings and use causal statistical models to examine the relationship among LLD, physical health and the SASP index.

In addition, our analyses were limited by the nature of our data. For instance, the number of participants from under-represented groups was too small, and we could not assess the influence of race or ethnicity on the SASP index. However, previous studies have suggested associations between race/ethnicity and physical health or LLD65.

Also, we did not have information on socioeconomic status except for the indirect measure of years of education.

Similarly, we did not have information on childhood adversity or past traumas, which might mediate the relationship between neuropsychiatric symptoms and ageing. While we included a large selection of carefully pre-selected clinical measures, other variables might be relevant to capture the clinical heterogeneity of LLD. In particular, more detailed information on smoking and alcohol consumption, other physical comorbidities (for example, cerebrovascular disease) and general markers of quality of life, activities of daily living and physical activities should be included in future studies66.”

Yeah I’ve had lots of people not thinking it’s a big deal and telling me it’s mental. But my mum says when I was a baby food would go straight through me so? Unlikely baby me was causing it by being anxious. I used to be severely underweight because I’d avoid food just to avoid the consequences of eating it

Clearly. And constant noise is not a problem. It’s inconsistent noise that is the big problem and what people notice. The article provides only correlation and no causation. It’s just as likely if not more that the exhaust and other air pollution from the cars is the problem.

In all honesty, i have Master's Degree in Natural Resources and a Master's in Nutrition and Integrative Health. I worked for the US Forest Service for five years and the Bureau of Land Management for 2 before changing my career and became a Nutritionist. Before all that, i served in the US Air Force. In grad school for Nutrition i met many woo woo types that display the exact type of thinking i mentioned. Also met many of those types while i worked for the Forest Service and see them all the time in my private Nutrition practice. Please don't be a jerk and assume you know anyone based off one or 2 reddit posts. Trolling is gross.

So now that i have shared, please...tell me your qualifications for calling me a crank and how awesome you are.

Exactly. And if you're not exercising very regularly, then you get the early checkout. I see many of my peers aging out and complaining about health issues. Do they get off their buttys and do anything? Nope.

The poetic reflectance of nature's preferred method of reproduction (chemical delivery of ingredients to other ingredients) is a lot to turn down in the absence of better theories. Plus, these compounds had to come from somewhere, and we can't find any mechanism for creating them on Earth before life existed, combine that with the fact that we've found literally every single building block needed for life, to exist on astral bodies outside of the planet... It's a lot to dismiss.

I have never used the Common Noise Assessment Method that they referred to, since it sounds like a European thing. But I used to work in noise control in the US and even published research on traffic noise modeling.

It sounds like this model would have assessed your home as having low noise impacts, since it's pretty sporadic. They usually are based on average daily traffic counts.

This research is establishing a causal relationship between the steady background noise and increased hypertension. Transient noise from horns or an obnoxious motorcycle are related, but outside of what they were looking into.
