Yes, but think about the context of that advice and where it's coming from: The CDC—a government agency in this case—is being as broadly cautious as possible with that guidance because they know people will ignore it. They're also talking about an ingredient, regardless of its quantity in a given product. They aren't going to provide ratio-specific advice for every application.

24 hours, though, is really overkill; we're not in a rainforest where it takes forever for things to adequately dry out or move deeper into the soil.

Herbicides are typically fine for pets and bare skin—unless someone is highly allergic to it—once it dries or once it rains to get the stuff into the soil and off the blades/leaves.

Example: You (the royal you, as in anyone reading this) buy a hammock and it says "max weight is 250 lbs.," but you might weigh 275 lbs. and think "it's fine, it won't break for being an extra 25 lbs. over." Good news: you're probably right and it will be fine.

The "250 lbs. max weight," according to the manufacturer, is more for their protection against a consumer frivolously suing them because a hammock broke at some point after it's been used. In reality, though, a hammock can typically safely hold a lot more than they say they can because us humans tend to easily put on more weight when we're not paying attention to such things. I've seen two people frequently use a hammock that was, by the label, only designed to be used by one person at a time.

Edit: a word

Even when you know you have the right of way to cross the street, it’s like taking your life in your hands trying to get across main street between Belvedere and Thompson. Maybe they need to paint the crosswalks in that alternating white / asphalt pattern. What about solar powered flashing signs. I’ve seen those before. Curb bump outs would be great too. In my experience drivers are far less shitty in RVA than other densely populated cities like NY, DC, Philly or Boston.

The thing is, we’re gonna renew no matter what because we only just moved in last summer and neither of us wanna move again. And we genuinely love our house. But I’ll be damned if I don’t put up a little fight you know?

There's one like this at Sheppard & Ellwood and also the nicer one on Park Dr. which connects Dogwood Dell parking lot to the VITA trail.

They're awkward to use because of two lane traffic (Ellwood one way and Park Dr. two way). You'll get one courteous driver in lane A who looks to be gradually slowing down to yield to you and then lane B driver appears to be going full speed and may/may not slam on their brakes. What walker wants to trust that both parties will come to a complete stop. Awkward for both drivers and walkers.

Thank you! I understand this crosswalk is very poorly marked, but no matter how many infrastructure improvements and how much enforcement is done, people will behave how they want to behave. And sadly we live in an extremely car-centric city.

I am ready for my downvotes.

Diamonds Direct in Short Pump had great prices and they were able to do a custom ring for me (Tiffany style 6 prong at 1/3 the price, looks exactly like it). You also get lifetime cleanings/resizing which I’ve use multiple times. And you get a nice discount when you want to buy wedding bands.

The lift park? haven't ridden it, but by all accounts Snowshoe is wildly superior.

The Western Slope are XC, all climby no lift, trails. There's a robust network of trails and there's a ton of progression. You can ride flow, dirt, rock, chunk and it's really easy to tell what the difficulty is gonna look like (higher up the hill the harder the trail...generally).

You have to buy a $10 day pass for the western slope, but all the dollars go to SVBC to build and maintain trails, so totally worth it. I think you can do like one trail work day and ride all year based on that too.
