I'd also recommend getting in contact with the folks at Providence Bike Collective, great people and the new shop space on Sims Ave is awesome! Even if you end up getting your bike at RAB or Craigslist or wherever, you can always bring it to PBC during their open shop hours (Thursdays 6-8pm only currently) if you have any questions or concerns about your new ride. They've got tools, bike stands, and knowledgeable people around to help you with all the basics.

Also once you get your new bike, come thru to Providence Bike Jam! It's a monthly group party ride around the city (@pvdbikejam on Instagram for details). The next one is this Friday, meeting at Burnside Park at 6:30pm!

Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather just order from a place that has been doing this for many years and has perfected it. Simple and quick.

I don't want to scour the internet for recipes, go to the grocery store and buy a whole bunch of ingredients (typically in portion sizes that are way more than you'll ever need), come home and start experimenting and hoping it comes out ok. And regardless of the outcome, I'll either be eating it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the next day...or throwing it away. Who wants to eat the same thing for days. Waste of time and money.

Bold take shittng on tradesmen who do backbreaking and often dangerous work for requiring a bare-minimum level of training and holding people to the standard. I'm sure we'd all prefer if everytime a basement floods some stranger gets a three month paid vacation and a kudos for helping to keep the water-users in their place.
