Not illegal, but yeah, if it’s not taken care of by a licensed arborist and you break something, insurance ain’t gonna cover.

Holy fck! It probably is illegal to do it yourself, or you won't get insurance cash in case something goes wrong? I mean, how can anyone afford this???

Because it’s so close to structure they’d have to take it down piece by piece. We’re also in a high cost of living part of the country, so that doesn’t help. It would definitely be a couple grand easy.

True. We both use wood stoves to heat our houses, so I’m going to go over there and help chop it up later today. We’ll both get a good start for next winter.

couple grand??????? WTF?
I recently had a tree cut down. 15m high, roughly 1m diameter (so much larger than this stick). 200 bucks, 1 hour of work.
Where the hell do those prices come from? You could also ask your friendly neighbour owning a chainsaw and a rope,- he'd probably do it for a crate of beer.

Now if it could just saw itself into smaller pieces everyone would be happy.

I see people say never put vista on a network, what happens if it's put on a network?

I see this all the time in manufacturing. A lot of places still have machines running Vista and even XP. I JUST upgraded a Win7 machine not even an hour ago.
Giant pieces of equipment will come with consoles or computers that have these old versions of Windows on it. Said piece of equipment costs $100,000. Said piece of equipment WILL NOT work with any other console or computer. These businesses are not going to spend thousands and thousands just to upgrade Windows when the equipment still runs 100% completely fine.
You can still find replacements for these systems on EBAY and stuff too. When one dies it's faaaar cheaper to buy a 15-year old console on EBAY for $6,000 than it is to spend $100,000 on an entirely new machine.
It really is common sense from the owner's end when you think about it.

Hey man, if it aint broke, don’t fix it suggest replacing some part that doesn’t need replacing for another year minimum and charge multiple service and diagnostic fees.

I used to work in a hospital and some of our analysers ran Windows Vista as the OS. We followed the same principal, never put them on the network, all interfaces must be via RS232.

A system that is working correctly is best not disturbed. Just don't plug it into a network and it'll do fine.
