Clearly not a flight risk, so judge puts him back on the streets.

I love how writing can really dramatically say something, by distinctly -not- saying it:
>The hope was that it would result in small pieces for animals to consume. The result was an event that would be remembered in the history books.

Apparently they oversee the expenses of the state government. And the treasurer oversees the revenue.

I’m pretty liberal, but this is just ridiculous. After a certain point, the judge who bails this POS out needs to be held accountable. He obviously should not be RoR since he keeps committing felonies, and if he’s been bailed out, he should have that revoked for the same reason. Someone please make the reasoning of the judge make sense.

Well, it's a good thing Matt Damon proved we can grow potatoes on Mars then isn't it.

Artificially inflating how much money you have, and looking the other way when it's revealed? Probably more than incompetence. Time to start assuming malicious intent.

So what? Your generation had it worse so ours shouldn't strive for improvement over what we currently have? True boomer logic right there...

Yes, and only if the prosecutor chooses to flag a new felony as a strike

Also doesn’t that only apply to felonies?

My memory of the original study was looking at it pretty watered down so you could get a reasonable-ish number of bricks per point, but also that it was a bit of a "well they made bricks with animal blood in the past, so let's see what kinda of properties they have" kind of study.
I guess in the event of an astronaut dying they could harvest the blood to make a porch or something though

San Antonio has the Missions, AA for the Padres. They become the Flying Chanclas twice a month or so during home games. If you know about chanclas, you understand the reference.

Yes, the comptroller is elected in SC. They have been talking about making it an appointed position. I couldn't believe he resisted the calls to resign for so long.

I'm struggling a bit to think how there would be enough blood as human liquid waste to be considered for making space bricks.

Depends how it was counted. If it was a bug in a computer program or excel sheet doing the double counting its hard to attribute that to malice. Especially if many people used it.
