That's a great idea, but because I explained it poorly. They exist as beings of evil. Saying their name calls them to you, it doesn't weaken them. I guess an analogy would be if a lion or a shark were nearby and you cut yourself, made noise, shouted, or otherwise drew attention to yourself. The best way to survive a predator attack isn't pluck and moxie--it's to not be attacked.

Unless we can change the hearts of men to never fear, hate, or rage then some things will exist; love, kindness, and braveryis the way to stop such things, but not on an individual level. To use the predator analogy before, we would have to remove the ocean or the savannah. In the meantime, run and hide and try not to call attention to yourself.

My co-worker Sandy died of a stroke at 40 and three different people received transplants from her. Her family wanted to meet them and had a picnic a year or so after she died. One of the recipients said that she kept having a thought saying, “Sandy is okay.” This was before the family reached out to her and she knew Sandy’s name. I would have never believed such a thing if I didn’t know this family and hear it directly from them.

Sidenote - There are more kinds of love than romantic love. Friends can get deeply bonded too. Have you all never heard of friends who met in college and formed lifelong relationships?

If Cassie says she and her roommate weren't in love, I'd say let's keep to that. She knows better than us and it could be relevant to save her.

Also, what is the roommate's name?? That could be helpful in many ways!

Why Grayson shouldn't alert the administration to the fact that one of their pets is killing even more students than allowed?

He's not even aware of Ashley's subsequent dalliance with the Laundry Lady, so he has 0 reason to protect her. We already know he probably knows how to contact the "real"'administration, if only just to shield his dad the Dean. Hell, for all we know, his dad could get in trouble for getting too many dead students on supernatural records so maybe that's yet another way he's protecting him.

Ooorrrrr he is in fact "Gray's Son"! Maybe he is actually part of the "real" administration and is for example in charge of keeping the Dean under control. And he is... taking a special interest in Ashley? Among allll the other students? Maybe he really does like her 😉 or maybe it's because she can sense the inhuman? Maybe he's using her behind the scene, hoping to debunk other abusers among the campus's supernatural inhabitants?

But then, if the big conflict is between New and Old monsters and the administration/ Gray's Son are on the New side, how did he not try to prevent Ashley from destroying the Eye? Why isn't he shielding her from the Rain Man? Hell, why would someone tied to the Master of the Gray World be on New monsters' side? Isn't he super ancient?

IDK I'm rambling lol
