Definitely bikeable, though not designed for bikers. Weather only problem I’ve had.
Edit: only problem other than bike being stolen.

No joke they basically bring you like the steam tray from a wedding buffet for your entree. Comes with a salad the size of a baby

Fairly bikeable if you take the right streets but like the other commenter said, expect punishment passes from out of towners who hate driving downtown

It's bikeable and there is covered bike parking by YNHH, but traffic is not bike friendly. Think punishment passes even if you're going the speed limit.

A testament to how spoiled we are on the Italian front. So many different responses.

Your going to Yale, own a car, thinking about a MC to cut costs. Don't buy the MC, use the $$ for gas in the car and uncomplicate your life. Much safer by the way.

Yale employee here. Yale Parking and Transit doesn't offer garage passes to motorcycles. You won't be able to park there.

Have you thought about an e-bike? Seems more practical for the requirements you describe.

Your best bet is to get something like a Honda Ruckus 49cc that can be parked on the sidewalk. Get a couple of great locks for it. Never lock it to a tree. If you have a garage lock it in the garage as well. (This goes for a motorcycle also) Never too many locks. I had a ruckus for more than 10 years in NHV. You just have to be really diligent.

Biking in the winter is fine once the roads are plowed, just need to put on a jacket and gloves. And taking the bus is going to be a lot cheaper than ubering everywhere
