Look up Sanctuary at The State House for finding some goth friends. Three Sheets has shows again and used to attract some punk and metal folks

this is the right answer imo! mountain movers are the best currently active new haven rock band.
the best new haven band of all-time is miracle legion. ovlov is a good answer, but i don't really consider them to be a new haven band.

I don't know what your definition of breaking the bank is but I go to Conte jewelers in Hamden. He custom made my wife's engagement ring and wedding band for a reasonable price and even fixed it free of charge when one of the diamonds cracked.

Them Airs are great, lots of energy. Pulsr is probably my favorite though, I see em at the state house pretty often or opening at the space ballroom.

You can put the word out through a couple of CT based podcasts when it’s set up. The Horror Show, The Pint, Super Retro, etc.

Darik and the Funbags had huge, lively shows back in the day. They were a super high energy cover band. Chris Michaels was the lead singer and was an amazing front man. He and Darik had a falling out and now he's got some other band.

If it’s a Saturday/Sunday the Eli Whitney Workshop offers several projects for kids. I’d say 3 years and up. We built catapults and rubber band powered cars on our visit.
