Rt 69 brings you right into Waterbury. I do it all the time from Wooster sq, about 45 min, but from westville you're only like 30 min away. Plus in the morning you won't have to go through downtown traffic. There won't be much traffic on 69 unless you get stuck behind a bus or something. Shouldn't be a bad commute

I was mostly asking about the staff, if they were able to get anywhere with the owners...or get paid.

Check out Cheshire Soccer Club. They may have something for your 3yo, especially if his fourth bday is coming soonish.

I love my son but maybe not enough to drive 45 minutes on a Saturday morning. Unless it gets him a spot at the Barcelona academy.

I mean I would have to take 63 to 8 but not till Naugatuck, or I could take 69 all the way to 84.
Would that be any commute to be worried about?

Going out of New Haven isn’t bad but traffic is still crappy if you have to take 8 or the Merritt parkway. But that’s because those roads are terrible. New Haven is the place to live.

I mean I guess just know city rush hour can be hectic. Wanted to hear from some locals

On Google maps you can throw in the time you want to leave at and it gives you the average commute time based on the time you want to arrive or leave

I don’t think it’s that complicated. They didn’t didn’t make a lot of revenue during CoVid, hung on for a bit, but ran outa of money. Why they continued to stay open if they couldn’t pay their workers is a mystery though.

And now the mayor wants to put permanent bathrooms and locker rooms on the green for the homeless people who hang out on the green.
The green is supposed to be for gatherings, etc. Not a homeless camp. How could he possibly believe this is good?

Yeah, OP brought up some good places to hang out but most of them don’t necessarily meet the “place to develop community without having to spend money” definition of third places.
It’s a little more like bowling leagues, civil organizations, and churches than what a bar typically provides.

You guys are the example I bring up every time I talk to folks about third places. Y’all have been doing a great job of building inclusive spaces for years now. Can’t wait to start hanging out again once I start going into the city for work a couple days a week.
