I'm calling it. The mods will delete this post. They can't stand criticisms of this sub.

I'm going to say gushing over John Carpenter's movies. Some people think every movie he made was a masterpiece. Seriously, In the Mouth of Madness was a good movie? No it wasn't, people.

I said that because you purposefully misconstrued my question to make your own point. And now you've been arguing a movie where you can't see or hear anything would be "good" by some measure. I don't think you actually believe that so I'm not going to engage with this anymore.

Unfortunately a lot of people I know, my wife, sister, dad, cousins and a few other friends in my life do not like reading subtitles and they will shit on movies that are dubbed because it looks and sounds cheap. I am in a completely different league and have come to enjoy a lot of foreign films over American ones. Particularly in the horror genre but others as well

How did the bad guys know that Sully had left the forest and to go looking for them?

Why did the water tribe abandon Sully and family half way through the big fight, and just reappear and the end to tell them that they are family now?

How many times did the kids get kidnapped and yet left in an unsecured location by supposedly badass military people?

What happened to the bad guys going native like they said they were going to do at the beginning?

And it's pretty much a rehash of the first movie, just in a water setting.

Also, they talk about needing to pacify the locals so humans can settle Pandora because Earth is dying. Why would you settle a planet/moon that had an atmosphere so toxic it renders you unconscious in seconds?

Stunning film, but more of a David Attenborough nature documentary than a coherent story. Enjoyable though.

I agree about my taste in movies ; my wife does not :p Ok, since your and my tastes seem to align, here's some of my other favourite horror movies, perhaps you'll find a few more new ones to enjoy:

  • Evil Dead Series

  • Evil Dead Remake

  • Paranormal Activity 1-3

  • Ouija: Origin of Evil (not the first Ouija, which is not good)

  • Annabelle: Creation (none of the other Annabelle movies)

  • The Descent

  • Drag Me to Hell

  • Behind the Mask

  • The Invisible Man (from a couple years ago)

  • The Mist

  • It Follows

  • Oculus
