Reply to Why do so few American movies let foreign language speaking characters speak their own language? Why does everything have to be in English... by _wyfern_
As an English only speaking American I believe the only language anyone should ever speak is English because I’m too lazy to learn another language.

American audiences are less likely to embrace a movie where they have to read lots of subtitles. Studios are more interested in box office receipts than they are about expanding the cultural awareness of moviegoers.

That new Tetris movie came out today I think. You might check that one out. The trailer makes it look like there was this whole Mission Impossible secret op to break into Russia and smuggle the game back across enemy lines and release it to the masses. 😂 Was it really that serious.

That's nothing compared to all the media put there where multi-galactic space covenants just speak English by default. Even the notion of all of them communicating via sound and words and sentences is weird.

I think Extended ROTK is just a worse edit. The Mouth of Sauron makes no sense in the movie because the whole drama in the book is that we have no idea what happened to Frodo and Sam and so it reads as if they failed.

The legal friends say that the judge would declare a mistrial.
Anyways, the movie had one the best ensemble of character actors in one movie. I rewatch this one often...

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women.
It's a ridiculous problem that gets exacerbated by bad policing and bad policy.

I guess if its new, people call it overrated maybe because they don’t like it and it annoys them that everyone talks about it. If its an older movie, then its different.

Or the this as a question. What amazing movie do you never want to watch again? Like 4 times a week.

He’s actually playing the Native American chief. Scorsese tried to stop him, but he’s insisting he needs to wear redface and full tribal garb.

Nutshell Middle-earth History: They were Oathbreakers and were cursed to remain ghosts in ME by Isildur for refusing to fight for him. Thousands of years later Aragorn came to call in the oath to fight for the king of Gondor. If they did, they'd finally be set free.
They did.

Margin Call is better for showing what it would have been like in a bank. It also doesn’t show bankers as pantomime villains.
Big Short is a completely different movie. It’s a comedy from the perspective of cynics.
