Being unable to explain how they like a film or performance without calling for an Oscar.

Everything and everyone halfway entertaining should have been nominated, it's a travesty, it's criminal, it's one of the all time snubs...

Probably cause even though she's an icon of 70s cinema.. Faye Dunaway has always been known as a huge diva who is unprofessional and mean to everyone around her. Most of her costars will say this about her. There's clips of Bette Davis bashing her in multiple interviews for being unprofessional, never knowing her lines etc and that is surely what led to her career slowly declining over time.

People having opinions other than mine are not imposing them on me because they have no authority or agency to do it. They might be nasty or annoying or just plain contrary, but they're not imposing anything. I still like the film I like and continue to not agree with them.

I'm in the same boat. Star wars and Star Trek marvel used to be my go to franchises but I can't stomach anything star wars has done since rogue 1 other than season 1 and 2 of Mando. No interest in andor. Star trek has produced almost exclusively garbage since 2005. Marvel I jumped off at endgame fearing that they'd end up in the same boat. I'll have to start looking into more non franchise stuff but scifi and fantasy are my go favorite genres and too much of it is connected to JJ Abrams and his friends whose filmmaking styles I can't stand. I hate that mystery box story telling style I want Jedi in my star wars. Post return of the Jedi with Luke being space Dumbledore while the next generation goes off on adventures. That shouldn't be too difficult but here we are.

I love John wick and can't wait to see part 4 and I've been getting into mission impossible after avoiding it for decades. It's better than I expected! I'm excited for dune part 2. and Pattinson's batman really impressed me as someone who didn't see it in theaters because I didn't like Pattinson. His performance on that film and the lighthouse really changed my opinion of him. Special shout-out to spider verse for being way better than I expected!

And yet are probably the most loved cult classic modern comedy, I think it’d take a US bomb for that anyday. They’re extremely British also, yet many Americans I’ve asked said they loved it too. (Plus Shaun only opened to 607 theatres, and they both overperformed massively for what they are. The trilogy made 150 mil on a budget of 41 mil in total.

That the Cornetto Trilogy is underrated. Don’t get me wrong I fucking love Edgar Wright and all of his films, and Pegg and Frost are brilliant, but fuck me how do people think he’s underrated at this point? Never met a single person who said they hated it or disliked it, only they didn’t get it, and everyone else loved it

Everything Everywhere All at Once is the best or worst movie ever.

The mods censor too much stuff that clearly violates the rules of the subreddit. ;]

Rants make people feel like they're important and they're professional movie reviewers...

The MCU is ruining the movie theater experience...

Autopsy of Joane Doe and The Others are two of the best horror/thriller movies I've watched. I will check out the other two as well as you clearly have great taste in movies. Btw, thank you for all the recommendations. I appreciate it!
