To add to the other comments, this case was kind of the last straw that lead to the creation of the FBI. Before, it was the BOI (Bureau of Investigation) which could literally only just investigate and take their findings to local authorities who would decide whether or not to do anything with it. BOI personnel had no arresting power and weren't even allowed to carry weapons when acting in their official capacities.

I'm right there with you on Mallrats. When I was 25 I thought it was the snoochiest of boochies. Saw it a couple of years ago and... damn.

But not all hotels are resorts, got it; I’ll figure out this brainthinking eventually

He understands English but does not speak it well like we do. He says he's from Moscow. I don't know what other clues there can be that he is from Moscow. "Cousin" can mean a lot of things beyond your parents' siblings' kids.

Reply to Margin Call by transformerjay
Margin Call is a bit better I think. Only question I have regarding the movie is that when the board realizes what is about to happen why didn't they start offloading the bad assets right then and there? It might have been early morning US time but not in Europe, and Asia. Plus they had traders right there to start doing it.

It was a cover up on the part of the FBI (predecessor). They realized the corruption and murders ran much deeper but wanted to scream success, so they swept the rest under the rug to be forgotten (that’s the whole point of the last part of the book). That is literally a cover up.

Not to mention he has the sword long before he gets it in the movie I’m pretty sure he has it the entire time or else at least since they leave rivendale.
Ghost armies all ready to go in the books

Completely true, I was just curious to see if the meta would change at all, especially since Apple is helping distribute this move (I'm pretty sure?).
I think the only way for EEAAO's full year strategy to work is if the movie is extremely rewatchable, and idk how rewatchable a 3 hour movie with this subject matter will be.

No COVID protocols were required by insurance because production insurance never covered COVID related delays.

It's public domain, if Rajamouli wants to make it they can.

Maurice in Madagascar was a good straight man to King Julien in the first movie and probably had some of the more subtle funny moments for adults. He was used less and less as the sequels went on if I remember rightly.

Reply to Brooke Shields' movies are so creepy and inappropriate. Imagine your entire film career being reduced to movies which seemed so exploitative of her. by Lisieu_Lustre
Eh, I don't find her performance in Alice, Sweet Alice to be exploitative. The movie is creepy and inappropriate, sure, but that doesn't have anything to do with her performance, it is a creepy and inappropriate slasher movie that is practically an American giallo film.

The book was so damn good. I even love the follow up at the end the author has on his own investigations. It shows the extent of cover up was truly never fully uncovered. I don’t want to give too much away but anyone seeing this post should read it.

Reply to Question About Enjoying David Lynch Films by MagicMajed123
Watch the Straight Story. I think it may be his best film. So simple. So weird. So beautiful. I like his batshit crazy stuff, too, but the Straight Story just shows how much emotion he can pull out of an audience with so little.
The Elephant Man is top notch, too. Funny and tragic. It feels kind of like watching a play as a movie but in the best way possible.
