Reply to Movies like Scooby Doo 1&2? by accountforquickans
They have aged incredibly well as their own little thing. I love rewatching them. Sadly I haven't found any other kids movies with the same vibe. BUT, here's my recommendations for goofy fun with some random spooks.
- Goonies
- The Mummy
- Atlantis the Lost Empire
- Hook 1991
- Treasure Planet
- Goosebumps 2015 (far more fun than I expected)
- The Haunted Mansion 2003
- The Borrowers 1997
- Jumangi trilogy
- Scooby Doo and with Witches Ghost
- Scooby Doo on Zombie Island
- Pokemon Detective Pikachu
- Spy Kids
- Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams
- The Witches (1990)

Monster by Naoki Urasawa. It’s a psychological crime thriller set in late 20th century Germany. The story follows a surgeon who, years after saving the lives of a young boy and his sister, discovers that the boy was a murderer who has been continuing to kill. It’s really heavy and covers some of the political fallout of world war 2 and the cold war as it follows a really emotional character journey. Highly recommended for its serious tone, lack of juvenile tropes, and precise execution

Just finished it. It was a good one. I'm seriously impressed by how they managed to make a whole movie inside a coffin while keeping the viewer engaged

Yeoh is the true GOAT but Rothrock deserved to have a career that was equally illustrious.

An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn. Weird af but I loved it. Starring Aubrey Plaza and the actor who plays Derek Philbin in the Office.

One of the best, certainly. And should be more famous. I'm more of a Yukari Oshima fan, myself, but I have mad respect for Rothrock, too. She always brought it!

It's interesting that even in the years after Jurassic Park III, when Jurassic Park 4 failed to materialise, no Hollywood studio tried to make a dinosaur movie. The closest thing we got was King Kong, and that doesn't count because the dinosaurs weren't the focus of the movie and just happened to be there. I wonder if studios saw the downward trend in box office returns for the Jurassic Park trilogy and figured that franchise (dinosaur) fatigue was setting in.

Dude, she was 35 when PDL came out that is (unfortunately) considered old for an actress

I'm glad that didn't work out. He's great but that part was perfect for Wahlberg. I don't know if Leo could pull off the dumb guy as well.
