Reply to Jamie Lee Curtis in TRADING PLACES: What was the point of having her in it aside from exposing her breasts? by Lili_Danube
She's meant to emphasize the same exact point that Eddie Murphy's character emphasizes: people who work from the bottom are always smarter and tougher. Pre-bet Winthorpe would have never even looked at a girl like her. That's winthorpes lesson: he's spent his life looking up to the wrong people.

All I know of Charlie Chan is his Amazing Clan cartoon.

But I had no issues with the character, and I would have no problem with him making a new appearance in today's times, especially with the Shang-Chi/Everything Everywhere crew handling him.

One of the reason the film is "in"famous is because it resonated with so many. Many had our first love and most never able to profess it just like how the 2 characters let the letter slip/unable to give the letter because of the external force (the wind) or the internal lack of courage that stopped us to convey our feeling.
The distance between the 2 person hearts drifts apart at the rate 5cm/s, the same speed of cherry blossom fall, slowly but surely.
I don't know a lot about western literature but in asia first love is a hot genre of romance literature. It has always been associated with melancholy, regret and bittersweetness about an unattainable yet most beautiful love.

Posts that make you wonder if the poster even watched any movies…

Dude, Babylon is one of my favorite movies ever at the moment.
I have no idea how it got so snubbed for critics/awards.
Really felt like its one of THE movies, that only cared about making a great cinematic experience that leaves you with something to think about.
Ps: My defintion of pretentious is Wes Anderson’s movies. Slow movies that enhance akwardness for the sake of being different and must include a bunch of major actors in a poster that want to be cool.
