It's infamous in VFX circles as one of the shows that hugely inflated studios' expectations of how much work was achievable in a tiny timescale. Of course it was only possible because of some of the genius talent involved, many of whom had worked together for years, and Spielberg having a crystal clear vision for what he wanted, which all the subsequent rushed post schedules utterly failed to replicate!

The articles aren’t exactly from reputable sources. I don’t think the Jamie Foxx character would be worth exploring without Vincent. It should be a Vincent prequel

That's my thinking, if this is taking place more or less a decade or more after the events, it shouldn't take that long.

The lawyer would surely have cleared his name and so he wouldnt be mistakenly connected to Vincent still in anyway. I'll be super curious as to what the story could be that makes it work for a sequel. I could understand a prequel, since now Cruise actually looks more the part of a seasoned hitman.

Easily my favorite mindless disaster film. I like the idea of it being a satire because that's the only explanation for the awful screen writing acting in spots.... Aside from Chiwetel Ejiofor who is way over qualified to be in this movie.

Checkout Greenland if you haven't seen it. It's is a more restrained version of this end of the world scenario with similar themes and plot mechanics but it works better as a film IMO

The only thing I could think of is Max somehow becomes a target of the people Vincent worked for. But idk why they’d wait 15 years to deal with him if he was that problematic of a loose end.

>Set years after the polar ice caps have melted and sea levels have risen, the story of Thaw centers on a group of survivors at sea searching for a new home. Their prayers are answered with the discovery of an inhabitable town, that is, until they encounter a new nightmare living just below the water’s surface.

I personally think that's a one movie premise, they failed at coming with other interesting concepts for the sequels, they all feel like the same movie in my memory.

I personally prefer Mission Impossible, every sequel comes with the promise of new action sequences and cool gadgets, kinda like the old school 007 ones.
