I remember replaying the scene over and over where he keeps driving balls into the house at the end of the street and then the two people after that. Had to pause before I missed the following 10 minutes of movie trying to breathe.

This was Spielberg’s secret weapon and how he made SUCH compelling movies. Being able to tap into that childlike wonder and elicit these kinds of performances. There really aren’t many director’s who’ve been able to do that quite as well (or consistently) before or since in my opinion.

I’m just going to say it. Bourne is tougher than Chuck Norris

Anything from 2020-2021. Dead serious. I’ve watched a handful of movies from these 2 years; didn’t like any of them. I try to find something I’d like to watch from then - nothing looks even remotely intriguing.

I feel like they need to wrap up the story with a final movie.

Munich. Six months from the first day of shooting to the day you could walk into a theatre and watch it. It’s beautiful.

I think so too! I mean, what do you think of Pulp Fiction or The Departed or The Town? Or No Country for Old Men or Fargo? Since I think those are much more plot driven movies.

Lincoln. It's just so dull and long lol
I can watch 3 hour movies but this movie, nah. It's a great film but I can't just watch it
Also Disney's Snow White. I don't like her voice lol. It's grating to me. Also Wolf of Wall Street. I watched but it's like not a movie I enjoyed but it should have been.

Na Hong-Jin looks like Steven Yeun wearing a fake disguise

I remember the Tom Cruise/Steven Spielberg "War of the Worlds" had an insane schedule. They started shooting in November of 2004, wrapped in March of 2005 and the film was released in June of 2005. So from start of production to release was 7 months. I can't believe they finished post production on that so fast.

The Wailing is one of the best three-movie runs ever by a director.

I don’t like the weird vibes at the end that implies that the predominantly white rich folk aboard their ships made by exploited Tibetan & Chinese workers are going to start a new colony on the continent of Africa which has now risen above the sea, presumably after millions of its citizens were drowned.

I look forward to seeing it. I like Na Hong-Jin as The Wailing and The Chaser are pretty good.

Oh god, I totally forgot about this movie but now it’s all come flooding back to me. The funniest part I remember was how quickly everyone got over the death of the step-dad. Wasn’t he quite a good guy? Then a few moments after he dies horrifically, the wife is absolutely fine and back with John Cusack.
