I usually stay away from his movies. Just too pretentious trying to be artsy fartsy for my liking. He's right up there with Terrence Malick that I also stay away from. But he does it well with this genre that some people like.

Most of del Toro's work. Also, most of LAIKA studio's films, though most of their films I at least like or find passable. Del Toro's I actually dislike half the time. There just seems to be something missing for me. But he has such passion, and you can see it all in the final product, the artistry, etc... it just doesn't completely come together as a story.

I answer del Toro because most of what he makes comes so close to being something I'm sure I would love!

I'm dubious about this, most of the time it has not served the South Korean Directors well to make Hollywood movies. It sucks how under utilised actors like Lee Byung-Hun are in Hollywood productions. I feel like it's always the autuers worst work. (even if it is still somewhat decent)

e.g.

Kim Jee-Woon with The Last Stand

Park Chan-Wook with Stoker

I know it's a Hollywood rumor, but I've read that she's difficult to work with, and off putting in person. ? I did a quick google search and found a bunch of articles, but I'd hope she wouldn't be THAT difficult.

She's much better suited for character-driven indie projects than blockbuster fare. Studios often make the mistake of thinking the two things directly translate (see Trevorrow, Zhao) but they often don't.

She is making more money than ever being associated with Marvel. And I would assume her Nissan ads are comically lucrative. Like 10 million for a days work…

There was also a global pandemic, immediately after a year she was in 7 movies.

Elite actress who can pick what the hell she wants to do.
