I almost answered Peter O'Toole with Lawrence of Arabia and Beckett and looked him up and was suprised to learn he had actually been in a few movies prior to those.

Right around the time of the movie's release he made a donation of $100 million to the Newark, New Jersey school system. At the time, there was quite a bit of speculation that it was to gin up good press ahead of the pretty negative portrayal of him in the movie.

You're really going to die on this hill huh?
Eddie Murphy more or less was Saturday Night Live in the early 80's. Him being the biggest star on that iconic show is what led to him launching his movie career.

Marlon Brando...the Men and a Streetcar Named Desire and also revolutionized acting in the process.

Underrated movie in Wes filmography tbh, one of my faves from him. Thank you for taking your time to answer!

Big Daddy is easily the funniest, best written, and best acted film out of the lot.
But I gotta say that The Wedding Singer is a personal favorite of mine (largely due to Drew Barrymore)

I don’t know if I have one. I love Martin Scorsese, but I almost like him more as a public academic than a director (though I love his films).
I’ve been on a Fellini binge lately, but while his good films are masterpieces, there’s a fair amount of stuff I don’t respond to.
I think David Lynch is great, but outside of Mulholland Drive, I have to be in the mood.
Billy Wilder might be a good answer, but I’m not sure his highs counteract the lows.
Wong Kar Wai? Guillermo Del Toro? Again, too few films that I love, but the ones I love, I love deeply.
It’s really hard, so I’m much happier making top 5 or 10 lists.

Kubrick and Bergman.
Bergman's ability to make incredibly engaging, engrossing movies about depressed people who sit around having conversations is unreal.
