I definitely agree that the action was at a near comical level by the 4th movie 😂. Still had a great time watching it. And it’s not that I didn’t appreciate the development of the world building, I think I just found the world of JW more interesting when everything was still in the dark for the audience and we only caught little glimpses of the world John was apart of, which is the entirety of the first one.

I can understand someone enjoying the world building of the first one and not appreciating the development of said world building in subsequent movies. I liked all of movies and felt that the run times were appropriate. I also feel like it became more comical, and you either dig it or you don’t.

Making Star Wars would be a waste of their talents, I prefer they build an original IP of movies or adapt some bestsellers into franchise.

But yes, it definitely gave me How High vibes, with a new school twist

It’s a bit cheesy but in a good way. I liked it

I honestly loved it. It was dumb fun, but it made me feel the same way as I did watching stuff like How High or Friday back in high school...mightve honestly been because of the new line cinemas title card at the beginning but there was something nostalgic about it that made it feel like comfort food. Cameos were awesome, and the story was absurd. As a 34 year old dude I really enjoyed it. 16 year old me would have raved about this as a CLASSIC tho. 😄

Honestly, didn’t know it was a remake. I thoroughly enjoyed it but I’ve never seen the original so 🤷🏻♂️ I mostly loved how ridiculously off the wall it got as it went on.

If I were to guess..they will do something outside of their current wheelhouse. TV showrunners and writers tend to like to vary their projects a little bit. So it probably won't be another genre piece set in the past.
Also, Star Wars is pretty fucked at this point. Unless they replace certain executives at the very top (Kathleen Kennedy) it's going to continue as is until it crashes into the ground like a crippled Star Destroyer.

Velvet Buzzsaw, kinda sorta? It's about the art industry rather than the fashion industry, but there's a lot of overlap between the two worlds.

Just can't stand him and think he's overrated as an actor. It all seems same to me now.
