I don't feel like this statistic is all that unusual. Pick 5 more actors of similar stardom/popularity and longevity and I bet most of them have 2-4 multi-time directors.

We were saying "bad" for things that were good, in the 80's. It's just a piece of slang that was a little dated by the time they used it in the movie.

I never saw that adaptation but I thought his recent Rogue Heroes was a mess. Maybe he doesn't even have time to read that book😅
But am in awe of how he has like 6 projects every year and I admire how he wasn't beaten down by the film that flopped.

I thought he got very vocal about changing his characters in the 2000s but I recently heard Cameron say he brought his dad in and they wanted to add some ideas to the character and story.

Wow, I hadn't heard they were working together😃
When I heard PTA and Tarantino joke that Leo is quite intense about some scenes I knew he was still chasing him.
I thought for a bit that PTA cast his dad in Licorice Pizza because Leo turned down the film.

Maybe he might've been in consideration for the upcoming Spielberg film if he was younger assuming they ended on good terms.
But this would be the 3rd role that Bradley Cooper has taken instead of him after he couldn't do Nightmare Alley and Licorice Pizza.

And from then onwards he was very demanding of directors, maybe that's why he rarely works with some again.

If you wanna watch something International, then there is an Indian movie called 'Darr' (Translates to 'Fear'). And it's the exact kind of movie you're looking for. It has a slow start but it's definitely worth a watch. The antagonist is an actor called Shahrukh Khan and he's internationally recognised as one of the best actors in the world (He is the only Indian actor to be on Empire's Magazine of Top 50 actors of all time.) So you'll definitely enjoy.
Edit: It's on Netflix.

Reply to I'm looking for movie (or maybe even a TV show) with an actor that looks like Sven-ole Thorsen from The Running Man (1987) but with a longer and darker beard. by Different_Account4Me
Sounds kinda like the bad cop from First Blood when they bring Rambo into the copshop.
But it also sounds like something done in the remake of Dawn of the Dead, one of the security guards.
Maybe?

This was, for a long time, far and away my favorite movie. And despite only seeing it once in the past 25-30 years, it still may be the movie I’ve seen the most in my life.
There was a stretch in the early 90s - I would have been around 8 or 9 - when I would go to the video store every Friday with my mom. She’d rent a movie for her and my dad, a movie for my sister, and a movie for me. While my parents and sister would get something different every week, I got the Wizard. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
My mom would constantly try to get me to pick a new movie, but I wasn’t having it. Every weekend was the same. I’d get the Wizard and then I’d try to watch it as many times as I could before we had to return it. Sometimes I’d get maybe 5 viewings in on a single weekend.
This continued for a couple of years so I’d say that between 1991 and 1993 I may have watched this movie close to 300 times. There was a time when my barely developed 9 year old brain could recite almost the entire movie’s script.
Like I said, I’ve only seen it once in the past 30ish years. That was a couple of years ago when I saw it was streaming and I made my wife watch it with me. Boy was it not as good as I remembered lol. That said, the Tobey Maguire cameo was a pleasant surprise!

Sounds like he’s finally working with PTA too. PTA originally wanted him for Dirk Diggler.
I hope he works with Fincher someday. Fincher shot a Red camera test with Leo lighting up a stogie in the dark. Pitt and Leo reuniting in a Fincher would be epic. Pitt was originally supposed to be the Damon character in Departed I believe.

The first time I saw him was in Gilbert Grape, I remember thinking it was cool that they had a mentally handicapped actor in the movie.

That was his credo after Titanic, I believe. To only work with A list directors.

Hell, Michael Jackson had a #1 single and #1 album named after its slang meaning. But yes, popular usage was wearing thin by the time "The Wizard" came out.
