It’s comfort food for sure. Goodfellas is the same way, funny enough.

I liked both Godzilla films. The Godzilla 2014 had a stronger story but lacked in the big monster fights. Which I didn't mind cause it made for some cool shots.
King of The Monsters on the other hand definitely had a weaker story. But goddamn were those monster fights amazing and visually stunning. Having KG emerge from the ice was a cool intro. Then burning Godzilla is a sight to behold.

Haven’t seen it since I was a kid. Don’t remember much about it but it’s where I learned to warp in Mario 3. I live by those dinosaurs, forgot they were in this movie. Gonna have to watch it again

Idk, I'm not religious in any way but I think as long as something is done well I don't mind. Adding religion to something can be fascinating, and I like how Signs pulled it off.
Take Stephen King. He often has religious elements in his works with his scifi. The Stand is probably the most obvious. But take The Dark Tower. It's a western, scifi, fantasy, meta, literary work of art wrapped in a bow of religious allegorical crazyness!

No, wait, that was "Wizards" in the late 70s

I remember hearing that there would be a Super Mario 3 from the movie trailer and almost shit my pants. I believe in the trailer they showed a level in world 2 with a koopa troopa being bounced around inside coin blocks. Will never forget that movie.

Hats off to Nintendo for never giving up on the concept. It was just like a way early wiimote prototype.

I was mostly being flippant to get a chuckle. You do you- kinda fun to experience movies in a different order. Maybe working your way backwards gives a whole different experience! (Report back if you do!)

Remember that in BTTF, Doc was very much against going back and changing things in the past, as it would unravel the space-time continuum. Look at all the drama over merely keeping Marty's parents from meeting.

Love Christian Slater. The man never turned down work.
Edit to add: my kids are about the same age I was when The Wizard was released and I’m sure the Super Mario Bros Movie will be a lot better than any video game content we had back then.

Lots of movie sequels are self-contained in a way that book chapters really aren't, which is why I asked. But it looks like the consensus is that's not the case here.

Ehhhh, I'm a HUGE Godfather fan, while it wasn't the 'WORST,' as an avid moviegoer, I can't think of many performances worse than Sofia's in Godfather III.

Godzilla King of the Monsters. I expected it to be much worse and came in all but determined to hate it, since I wasn't fond of the 2014 movie. By the end, all the Godzilla universe fanservice had me won over. It ain't perfect, but it was clearly a labor of love and felt like a big budget version of the monster showdown films. It was the movie I wanted from the 2014 film.

The entire series is a giant story. You can watch 4 for the action, but you'll be missing a ton of backstory by not watching the first 3

as others have said, the world and lore of john wick's world builds as each film goes on so its pretty crucial to watch the others first really

I feel like this question is kinda like asking “I’m not into reading but I hear chapter 4 of this book is great, can I just skip ahead and read that chapter?” I mean your could, but it’s literally called John Wick chapter 4. The clue seems in the title for this one.
Gloomy_Travel7992 t1_jdxlth0 wrote
I think they are all totally worth the watch, and the escalation of events and impacts of certain moments in this movie hit harder if you’ve seen the first three. But if you just want to see crazy action at it’s finest, which is the main drawing point, then it’s probably fine to only watch 4. But again, I’d highly recommend the others.
