I'm more open to all options now but when I used to get asked how I like my bacon my response was "just don't give me food poisoning". My nana used to cook it in the microwave and idk if I like it despite this or if it's literally a learned behaviour. Used to love the soft floppy bacon.

Lolololololol so it’s butchered identically but also not identically? Nice I’m glad to know Reddit still has a hard on for pedanticism

Girl please butchering is the process of cutting up the animal. If the butcher is cutting up the animal differently then they’re butchering it differently.

Genuine question, if you happen to know. Why do Americans call pork loin "Canadian bacon"? Back bacon or peameal bacon are definitely different from what either Americans or Canadians know as bacon (cut from pork belly). It's always bothered me, since we both say "bacon" for the same thing.

Pigs in blankets are actually cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon. Not sure what the photo is of but it is neither a sausage roll or pigs in blankets.

Yeah, that's slightly more cooked than I would do it, when I want bacon. Sometimes I might want crunchy bacon flavoured sugar, but it doesn't feel right for breakfast.

Shawarma in a blanket just doesn't have the same ring to it.

In England (renowned for their fantastic cuisine) yes that is true. For some reason they call cured pork wrapped in cured pork a "pig in a blanket". In the US and its a cocktail sausage wrapped in pastry. And its generally a bite sized appetizer.
