Just say, "hey family member, thank you so much for thinking of me with this gift. However as much as i am appreciative of the gesture, i know that I won't actually ever use this. That's why I'm wondering if you are able to return or exchange it, or if you have a receipt so i may"

If they react negatively to that, they are extremely immature

I think it depends a lot on what you want to play and who you want to play with. I own both the PS5 and the Series X. Love the PS5 exclusives, also love Gamepass and now that GoW is done most of the games I want this year are multiplatform so will likely buy them on Xbox. I don't buy into the the X game plays better on X console argument, everything I've played works well on either.

Gamepass is great value, and if you're going to get it I'd lean towards the Xbox.

Yeah but my friend only has a console so I wouldn’t be able to play with him, so that’s kind of out of the question, it’s kind of a mess, but thanks

I would go with a Switch or a PC. There are really no hardware differences between the PS5 and Series X, the only reason to get one or the other are exclusives. However the Switch is getting to the end of its cycle, but they are also fairly cheap and have a lot of great games.

Yeah I think I might just go with xbox instead of the switch because then I can still have my vr and my racing wheel, and maybe down the road I can get a switch, because in some peoples opinion they might say the switch is an oversized phone with a few more games, it’s a tough decision, and I might end up doing something completely different with my first paycheck idk, but thanks again

Yeah, I’ve thought about switching back to Xbox full time and getting a switch too, but idk if my parents would let me considering I bought my PlayStation about a year ago, but then again it was with my own money, but then I would lose vr and I have a racing wheel that only works for ps/pc that my parents just got me for my birthday, so I’m kind of in a rock and a hard place, I might just have to get all three, i do have an iPad that I don’t use that I could sell to get a switch, idk thanks for the option tho.

ahem* xbox

i just think is runs super well and gamepass can let you get 4k dollars worth of games but it depends on you and what game's you like and i have a nintendo switch and a xbox series s and i have had my xbox for a vastly shorter amount of time and i love it way more than the switch (and xbox has halo)

One tip I can share with you after having owned the ps4 and Xbox one s is to not get the PlayStation ONLY for the exclusives, in my mind it’s not worth it, I switched from Xbox and it’s a good console, especially with having vr, but don’t get it just for the exclusive titles

imo games usually come to both systems anyways, and in similar quality. So I think it comes down to the exclusives for either console, as well as their past-gen counterparts. In that case... PS5, hands down.

I mean, there's God of War 3, 2016, and Ragnarok; There's Ratchet and Clank (2016) and Rift Apart. There's the Uncharted series. There's The Last of Us 1 and 2. There's Dreams, LittleBigPlanet 3 and Sackboy: A Big Adventure. There's Spider-Man (2017) and it's sequel, Miles Morales, not to mention Spider-Man 2 coming out soon. There's Playroom, Astro's Playroom, Playroom VR, and Astro Bot: Rescue Mission. There's Terraway: Unfolded. There's Returnal. There's Shadow of the Colossus. (AMONG US???) There's Iron Man VR. There's Horizon: Zero Dawn and Forbidden West.

And did I mention that Xbox One and Series has no VR? That means every single PS VR game would be unavailable on Xbox Series.

So in my opinion I would pick the PS5.
