We want affordable housing! But not in my back yard! and no rent control! And not to tall!

The nightlife czar came in and the first thing she mentioned was transportation (lol, she has no control over that and late night public transportation is not crucial to nightlife- see Miami, LA, Las Vegas, Houston and Atlanta) and things for families, and seniors other than clubs…. (doesn’t sound like much fun)

It’s kind of like folks have no idea what it would take to achieve these goals

Started a new job in January. I take Oak Grove to Back Bay everyday to work between 7:00-8:30AM. I’ve only had to wait 15min at most. Then I take it from Back Bay to Oak Grove between 3:30-5:00PM. It’s at max been a 10min wait. The orange line has been running pretty decent. Im surprised you had to wait that long for a train but the night trains are probably much worse.

My co-workers on the red line had their 30-40min commutes take an hour and a half to 2 hours.

Edit: fixed 3:30-5:00AM to PM

That isn’t the most pleasant walk, but it’s a reasonable distance and safe. Biggest danger there is crossing the street at Washington and Chelsea. But! MGH has a shuttle service between the hospital and Navy Yard, which might work as primary or backup transportation depending on your schedule.

Rather than see their art portfolio you want to know their voting history? There will only be 1 person in that room who cares about politics to that degree and thats going to be you. You can get your rebel message at any shop

I want to shop there, but the treats are too powerful. Just the regular chocolate chip cookies are outstanding. The cheese cakes, the regular cakes, good god the 5 layer cakes and strawberry short cakes. I can't shop next to crack. Who could buy apples after that? You'd have to be a navy seal to walk past all that and buy lettuce. C'mon.

It's the only way to attract talent. Many arguments are: "just get European rail heads to come and fix it since the trains are so great there.". We can't afford them. Their salaries are higher. Pay trash and get trash. This seems like a good middle ground of getting an experienced rail manager with direct experience of turning a system around. He's still fucked here, but it's a start.

So are the delays I’ve been seeing so people talk about not typical and this should generally resolve after inspections etc? I was worried that I was seeing such consistent comments about delays, and don’t wanna select a place to live where I basically have to allow 2 hours to commute in case of a delay for an hour ride on the T

What’s considered walkable for Boston? I’m gonna be doing my PhD there in the fall and will spend much of my time over near mass gen, but then a few days a week I’ll have courses over at the navy yard which looks like it’s about 1.5mi away, so trying to gauge if by Boston standards this is pretty reasonable and safe to walk, especially in the evenings, or if that really needs to involve a car

There is three of those on the walk from the Convention Center to South Station. Light post, wall by the commuter rail ramp, and a power box.

The Clitforce or Tri-Clit if you will
