I'm guessing you're a fellow Greek-American? I've been there once for a function and the patrons by the bar and playing tavli were as oldschool (emphasis on old) Greek as you'd expect. They had a portrait of Kolokotroni on the wall so they're legit enough. I never got the deal with their association though, if any - I've always assumed Sts Constantine and Helen. But who knows, maybe they're secular? tl;dr I wish I knew.

Neponset Bridge, the light by UMass on Morrissey Boulevard, Old Colony Ave when the fucking Baldors truck blocks an entire lane delivering to Tatte, the light at the end of the W Fourth St bridge with the guy who walks up the middle of the two lanes… more or less all of it.

I'm not an urban planner but they should make Huntington just for pedestrians, bikes, buses and the T from the J-way to the MFA. The current situation trying to please everybody is a death trap for cyclist, a mess for public transport (with some of the worst and most dangerous stops in all the T network) and an eyesore.

Yeah, my biggest issue is police unions promoting the necessity of sworn officer details over civ flag men with rare, cherry picked examples of "right place, right time." Every once in a while, some shit will pop off and a cop is nearby on a detail to jump in or at least provide direction of flight info. Doesn't seem like a good enough reason to not have them already nearby on directed patrols of very well known problem areas instead.

To be clear, I'm talking about traffic details where they sit in the cruiser and play Candy Crush. It does make sense to have both PD and FD details assigned to major venues and events where there are crowds.

I agree that it is the case, thanks to the settlement of the Feingold suit in 2006, and the two decades of investment since then.

New York only in the last year settled a similar accessibility suit, and is three decades away from coming into substantial compliance, under the settlement funding process.

And has another active suits relating to buses.
