The red line functioning smoothly from now until october is as likely as the Red Sox making the world series this year.

I think he’s just trying to be enthusiastic, obviously we all know it’s not the best in the world. With proper funding and management maybe top 10 in the US but we’ve got a loonnnggggg way to go before we crack the top 50 in the world

Had to drive Springfield to Boston all the time for my last job, one way was never even close to 4 hours. Also a lot of construction workers live way out there and drive into the city everyday.

Hey Bill MacGregor, currently running in the Suffolk 10th: Listen to Ron!
Being an elected legislator means that you never answer questions. $70k a year just isn't enough to communicate with constituents or explain or your votes. I'm so glad you've started your campaign by having no public events and refusing to answer queries from major local groups. You did a good job dodging queries when you were Matt O'Malley's chief of staff, and I'm glad you're already in practice. (Even your twitter is deliberately vague and without content, unlike your opponent, Rob Orthman, who "knows things" and "has positions" and "thinks about stuff other than sports.")
You'll fit right in.

From my experience, Pike it's extremely busy. I think all the way to 84 junction. If we were to add stop in between Springfield and Boston, maybe some congestion would go away. Like i said not an expert, and like it was mentioned before, Boston itself has enough of problems.

Maybe they'll finally finish the wholey unnecessary Courthouse Station renovation that's put one of the escalators out of commission for over a year now.

I know people can get into pretty crazy commute situations, but I find it very hard to believe that many people are driving from Springfield to Boston for work five days a week. That's easily four hours one way.

I miss the original Piccolo Venezia. There's really been no place like it since they moved from Salem St. I like Locale for pizza. Neptune is still amazing but only if you're in the mood to wait in line. These days I go more for shopping, believe it or not. It's one of the few neighborhoods that have independently-owned shops like Shake the Tree, Loft + Vine, the hat store that I forgot the name of, is the vintage shop on Salem St still open? And there's a really nice bookstore.

The bigger problem is that it's very narrow. Tall buildings need multiple sets of stairs and elevators and all. After accounting for all that, you end up with barely any usable floor square footage. And there is no market for a small 4-story building there. They're stuck.

Idk I’ve seen them put in a truly heinous bump out in Somerville. One of them is right near the Ball Square GLX stop and it is not only ugly, but it looks far more dangerous.

Wasn’t that debt all projects that went to improving / upgrading the MBTA? Why shouldn’t they be responsible for it?

I'm glad that Healey got someone who seems to be somewhat of an expert, but no one person has the power or authority to turn the MBTA into something we can be proud of. It's going to take a Legislature who have the guts to go forward with rail improvements.

Fair. I often forget Charlestown exists to be honest. It’s the only one downtown on that side of the river I’m aware of.
