The nickname is often a joke alluding to the high taxes in Massachusetts. But according to a study by WalletHub, they are not among the highest in the nation.

Massachusetts ranked 21st among states with the highest tax burden.

If your downtown consider the south station bathroom it’s pretty nice. I’m back bay go to the bathroom there. Both nice. The back bay one is closed 1-2 for cleaning though.

Boston public library is doing a “star party” event next Tuesday (3/28) at the Boston Nature Center in Mattapan. They will have telescopes available for use there and it’s geared towards kids/families.

I know the Mattapan branch of the library was supposed to start renting out telescopes but I am not sure if that is underway yet.

Generally ok at the visitor centers in the historic locations during opening hours. Parks and conservation land further out of the city are a gamble.

As a tourist, I think the places you are likely to go will be ok.

The insurance thing is only true if you don’t have a loan, because most banks require you to carry insurance if you do. And if you have a reasonably new car, you’d be crazy to not carry any insurance on it.

This is correct. We usually get tankers full of LNG from Rotterdam that fill up the tanks up on the Mystic. Early in the winter when it was looking grim for Europe they actually filled a few tankers here and shipped the LNG back across the Atlantic to top off the tanks there.

TLDR power supply wise you basically live in Germany.

Yeah, New York sucks with dealing with all that too. It is much more the stereotypical RMV... sorry, DMV... the typical hateful clerks etc.

I think the whole plate thing is to save on car insurance though by having it garaged in another place.

I think if there's a balance, with affordable housing it could be amazing. Up and down Washington and Blue Hill are billboards in empty lots showing the upcoming development that includes mandatory affordable housing quotas.

I see it in Chelsea and Eastie, bring it to Roxbury and Mattapan too. While loosening the bar restrictions and promote local artists and businesses/start-ups. It would change Boston to even better city for everybody.
