Those are reasonable prices for lobster & crab with the South End location. I always thought the portioning was liberal, but if you went last week and left hungry, that seems like a deviated experience. It's been a few months since I was there last.

Regarding cocktails... I remember getting Moscow Mules there, so nothing fancy or easy to fuckup.

Who knows, maybe they had an off-day. I've been there around 4 or 5 times in total and never had a bad time. If the next one sucks, I'll think back to your post and be like "Yeah, they def went downhill".

As an alternative, I liked Holly Crab in Allston too - but it's much more casual. I haven't eaten here since pre-Pandemic.

There's also some Capt. Loui locations in Massachusetts, which is a chain - but it definitely scratches the itch.

Me and my SO went last week. $55 for a lobster, $110 for half a dungeness. We got cocktails that were borderline undrinkable- all the tables around us also had unfinished drinks that were probably trash. All in all, we spent like $80 each and left hungry and unsatisfied. I'd read really good reviews about that place beforehand so I just need to ask: did they use to be good and dropped off or is this subreddit getting sponsored by them?

I once found a public record request from Boston police on one of those public records repositories. They physically printed the pages, applied a black Sharpie to "law enforcement sensitive comments" then scanned the pages back into digital form. Except you could still read most of what had been censored in the final public release.

I have had 3 meals at Kelly's in the last year because a coworker is convinced its "the best" Its over priced and calling it mediocre would be a compliment. I got a cheeseburger medium w/fries the last time. Burger was welllll done and tasteless the fries were under cooked smelled and tasted like fish because they didn't use a separate fryer for just fries. The other 2 times its was just as bland and meh. Much better options available

I'd hit the thrift stores and then bring to the dry cleaners for any cleaning or alterations. Talk to your network of friends and see if they can loan you a dress. Then spend the money on shoes and accessories. Everybody has that dress in the back of their closet.
