They've been renovating vacant apartments and with that has come some substantial noise. I don't think there's any real way to know how much noise there will be until your upstairs/downstairs/next door neighbor moves out. Otherwise I really like it here.

I used to chat with everyone at Clarendon Gold's Gym and made a ton of friends there. Also Martial arts. District Martial Arts is in Ballston and has tons of young people who moved to the area who want friends. If you put yourself out there you will find people who want to have a social circle to live it up with

I read somewhere that people need about 80hrs together to go from acquaintance to friend. While I wouldn’t consider that specific number gospel, friendship takes consistent time together to form, which is why random meet-up groups didn’t work for me even though I really liked the people I met. I would look for clubs that meet consistently once or more every week that don’t have high turnover. Perhaps volunteer at a museum? Or take a cooking class? Even though it didn’t work for me, if you’re able to find a meet up group for, say, a type of live music that meets regularly and doesn’t have high turnover, it might work for you.
