Live in BLT owned Harbor Point waterfront building right now..

I’m not sure about escape but the anti-BLT is really overblown. I’ve had 12 friends live in multiple different buildings in Harbor Point and all have loved their experience. It is more expensive over here though but essentially pay for a safer, more luxurious, and calmer area than any other option in Stamford.

Take a tour of a few different buildings across town and get an idea for yourself. To emphasize, the anti-BLT shit is drastically overblown, there is no other buildings/area as nice as Harbor Point in my opinion (I lived downtown for 2 years, it is quite miserable compared to this area).

The food was pretty good and there were always lots of people in there, but they had zero ability to get takeout orders correct. We stopped ordering from there after the fifth time in a row of getting orders with missing or incorrect items.

I've recently started going to Norwalk Vision Center. It's not in Stamford, but only a 20 min drive or so. They were amazing in terms of eye exam and helping me pick a pair of glasses. I wanted a pair of ray ban sunglasses that they didn't carry in store so the receptionist called and had a trial pair shipped for me before ordering the prescription so I could try them on.

I'd deff check out what benefits your insurance offers before you go! Mine offers a 150 allowance towards lenses, than an additional 20% off any amount over that (30% if you buy same day as your appointment).

this doesn't exactly answer the question you are asking but i went to one of the stamford mall optometrists to get my eyes checked and then just ordered a variety of glasses from eyebuydirect.com . they have generic from $20 to brand names like Ray Ban for $150. Quality varies with price point but I've been satisfied with the 4 purchases I've made.

Wow, I can’t thank you all enough! This was the exact info I was looking for. A few weekends ago we did quickly explore Harbor Point, and am thankful for all the input on it. I will be sure to really do my research if considering a place there. I think we will explore the Glenbrook area and Summer St. next. Again, appreciate everyone who took the time to reply!

If you’re down to drive a couple minutes out of Stamford - Bobby at Noland for Men on Greenwich Ave is awesome, been goin to him for years.

If you couldn't tell, Soufi barbershop on Bedford St is definitely the answer.

If you get a haircut with Soufi specifically it's $40 but well worth it. He goes above and beyond and will wash your hair and even trim the eyebrows if you ask.

This building is owned by BLT, who on the whole have a horrible reputation in Stamford. Many people who live in BLT properties report horrible management / maintenance issues / low quality construction etc. One of the BLT buildings had its foundation fail and the building was evacuated before it sunk into the ground... not good.

I can't speak for Escape specifically, but I would suggest you look downtown instead unless there is something which specially attracts you to Harbor Point.
