I would support a requirement to keep pay the same, but even then businesses will catch up with this by slashing benefits or cutting raises until their labor costs balance out.

The only way this works is economics. Hopefully, if a law like this was passed, it would make labor more scarce, and therefore increase the price of labor. Supply and demand.

PA gonna offer the same refund to the trucking carriers that use the Turnpike?

Cause doing so might tempt more carriers to open up the Turnpike to their drivers, thus lessening the ever-increasing congestion on I-80. Either that, or toll I-80 at the same rate as the Turnpike.

The Pennsylvania Family Institute he's the communications director for is just a cookie cutter far right religious activist organization.

Under their "issues" listings you can find

  • anti-abortion listed as "life"

  • anti-gay listed as "family"

  • anti-trans listed as "culture"

  • anti-gay and anti-trans listed as "religious freedom"

As far as state stuff goes, take a look at r/Pennsylvania

I recently found out through there that PA taxes your 401K contributions when the money goes in, but not when it pulls out, and that if you live in PA but retire in a state that taxes the money when it's withdrawn, you end up getting double taxed. Blew my mind.

No worries, as long as your insurance is good. When you are in a different state you fall within a grey area where unless the PA DMV puts out a national bulletin against your license you are good to go until you return to registered state. Upon return, you have 10 days in PA to get it inspected. If you are pulled over during that time, be super cool, super respectful and tell all the facts like they are. If you do that, no cop is going to give you a ticket. A trooper might give you a written notice where you are essentially “on notice” with the state to show out and provide proof you are taking care of it or face the full consequences. Otherwise though, as long as you actually do it and not wait a couple months once you are back, you are good.
