State offices, especially unemployment have been a nightmare since the pandemic started. It's crazy to me that it is still this way. I always felt like they only have two people who work there. Its stressful enough as it is losing a job and trying to find work, let alone trying to be honest with unemployment. What you have to do is start calling in the morning and redial all day and eventually you will get through and they will sort everything out for you.

Well, they aren't going to pay you if you don't file weekly claims. I think you can do it retroactively though.

FWIW My son got fired. Filed a claim immediately. Was out of work for about 8 weeks. Could never get through on the phone. The website just said there was an issue. He got a new job.

They finally paid his claim about 6 months later. So I wouldn't count on that money anytime soon. Sorry man. Hope things work out for you.
