I’m a state employee with a full time telework agreement. The management directive about telework however does not guarantee we will get to keep that agreement and given what happened with senior level management staff, the rest of us are feeling like they could make us come back into the office at any time. The fact that no one is saying anything either way doesn’t give anyone any comfort. I was hoping other state employees might have heard something that I haven’t.

Well although Lancaster County is quite a religious county (lots of Amish and Mennonite folk), Lancaster City is quite artsy and definitely supports the LGBTQ community. If you're not familiar with Lebanon County, it's a bit "rural" shall we say, but most people are very friendly. It's one of the fastest growing counties which can be good and bad.

My wife and I have wanted to move back east for awhile now and couldn’t decide where. Found out my grandma needed some help so this is where we landed for now.

It’s definitely been an adjustment living in such a small town but it’s close to so many places we visit and want to visit (DC, NY, NY, etc).

We’d love to find a more LGBTQ friendly area to visit though lol.

That’s another thing that annoys me, how America fetishes the military. Military grade this or that, like if you knew how often military gear breaks down that would not be a selling point,. Or all the dudes with the high and tight with beards and wrap around shades wearing a ‘this I’ll defend’ GoRuck tee with the American flag on the sleeve, the irony being they never served. Or all the SealTeam Six type tv shows.

I think serving is great, I am also pointedly aware that that doesn’t make you a great human being. I served with some awesome people that had a huge impact on me, also served with some low lifes I wouldn’t acknowledge knowing. The military is just a crosscut of America, good, bad and ugly.

First question, why Jonestown? Not much going on up "this neck of the woods" but great hiking trails in Swatara State Park.

As others have noted, there are lots of things to do in Lancaster and Lititz is a cool small town.

Agree that Ray Azteca is pretty good and the people are very friendly. The best Italian place I've found in the area is Lazzaro's in Palmyra. Reservations a must.
