Having to care for a sick father doesn't have a side effect of causing racism. That has nothing to do with the fact that she is a racist piece of shit and her trying to use this as an excuse tells you everything you need to know about this worthless loser. All anyone has to do is watch the video to know everything they need to know about this asshole.

Probably they should have, yes. Everyone has unconscious biases, and some about race in particular. That means everyone is a little bit racist. You can self monitor and try to be aware of when it is influencing your actions, but no one does that perfectly.

We can't prosecute people as criminal every time we behave like a flawed person. We would all be in jail.

To be clear, I'm speaking about your implication that every offense should be prosecuted. I'm on board with this one, it's egregious, she was leaning in to actively attack someone for their race and she was fully aware of what she was doing.

How long before she tells us it's "not who she is?"

EDIT:

She said, and I quote "It wasn’t about race, Bellew insisted, and she’s “not a racist.”"

Incredible. The woman is so fucking delusional.

She’s dealing with multiple breast cancer diagnoses, Bellew said, and she’s a caregiver to her ill father.

When I was going through chemo for my cancer in 2021 my dad was diagnosed with cancer himself. We were both going through chemo for cancer and the stress of it all never made me a racist pile of shit.

>I would say, even more specifically than this, is that the American social arrangement literally contained the idea that even if you were the most downtrodden dirt farmer white, you were still de facto better than the queers, jews, blacks, mexicans, etc.<

I think that has been pretty apparent since Obama was elected. I think the wealthier end of the neo-confederate spectrum came to the happy conclusion that they could make a lot of cash off of fueling that poorer end anger, by direct donations and by running on a platform as such and legislating shit like tax cuts for the wealthy and deregulating business to lower cost regardless of the danger in doing so.

>I realized what these fucks are angry about is that they can't make fun or belittle minorities, or gay people, or women, without suffering consequences for it and it really pisses them off.

Taking that away has made the poorer end of the confederate spectrum extremely angry. They literally feel like their birthright was taken from them... the birthright being of course the right to "make fun or belittle minorities, or gay people, or women, without suffering consequences"

Plus, when compared to an even wider swath of american citizens (containing a wide mix of brilliant and lovely people of many races and backgrounds) these guys look more and more what they are... a relic of america's disgusting racial history that is in rapid decline of social power

Ok, let me pose this question to you. If say I was a student at this school and wanted to start the let’s say “Christ Club” and I was turned down (as I should be) Do you think the ACLU would come to my defense and say it is a free speech issue? If the answer is yes then I will agree with you.
