I walk and drive them daily. I see luxury apartments being built, corporations moving in, parks being built, as well as restaurants opening up.

Like any city, it has its good and bad parts. That’s my anecdotal evidence, check the statistics for the entire picture…. Or selectively read headlines and generalize an entire city based on an article.

If he had a permit and the right to be there, then this is messed up. Sometimes the truck looks too close to the intersection. I believe 25 feet is the state law. And most times this guy’s music is so loud it’s actually painful to walk past. Like so loud it’s actually physically painful. (Or am I mixing him up with someone else on that corner?)

I can see if the music was too loud or it was too close to the intersection and he was gone the cops calling the tow truck. If he was there, I would hope they would just ask him to turn it down and/or back up a bit from the stoplight. Trying to get under the bus is a weird and bad decision and probably freaked out the cops.

No the post itself is the reality, your comment is added cynicism meant to mock people who see positives. This post doesn’t erase the growth the city has seen, but it fits into the story. Whereas your comment has nothing to do with painting the picture, it’s just meant to be snide. It’s not as if people are any more or less aware with your comment added to the news article.

Unlike regular NJ Transit trains with conductors punching tickets, Light Rail operates on an honor System of ticket validation. The purpose of validating a ticket is to prevent you from using the same ticket both ways or handing it over to a friend to use. By not having a ticket validated or stamped, there's no way to prove you didn't just get that ticket from someone else or you're trying to double dip. Now if the cop sees your receipt and there's no reasonable way you could have double dipped within that time window and he still gives you a ticket, he's a douchebag. But it's a million times cheaper to just pay the ticket than to fight it. It's not like you got a DUI or something requiring a lawyer. It sucks, but you got to be careful and follow directions.
