I used to be excited about the Harrison redevelopments until it became clear to me they're all the same. It is nothing like the renderings depicted which was a community of diverse buildings movie theaters restaurants and every street lined with retail. Instead, the buildings built adjacent to Red Bull Arena are nothing but bland reproductions of one monolith after another. Sure, the frontage facing 4th Avenue / Rogers Boulevard have a few stores, but the side streets is a bland reproduction of doors and short steps. I can't believe Harrison allowed them to completely ignore the arena staring them right in the face . You would think those developments will have all kinds of stores and Retail facing the arena . I think it's just a lost opportunity . But there's still two large vacant blocks. little interior island park that was meant to be surrounded by retail it's just surrounded by private doors and the little streets around the little island park leading to Cape May has been blocked off for 3 years now with no explanation whatsoever.

The kS website has been updated and now includes more details about the next Tower KS teased about months ago. It will be located on the intersection of Central Avenue and Norfolk Street. ( Clifton Ave North of I280) Unlike the 50 Sussex Avenue Tower which is 15 stories and 203 units, this one calls for 250 units on a similar footprint. So we're looking at at least 15 stories. Again, it's a similar footprint but it's a larger area, so it could be 20 stories with a narrow base or 15 stories tops but a wider base. How tall It ultimately gets depends on whether or not they expand into the area occupied by the homeless Village containers. One thing is sure. The smaller the footprint, the taller it'll be. This could be 18 stories maybe even 20. After all, it's 250 units.

Vermella gives them a run for their money. Their buildings are popping up like weeds. The Central Ave factory project is insanely ambitious- I can’t wait to see how they plan on pulling it off.

Hell, the traffic on Passaic Ave is already at critical levels- I’m sure adding thousands of apartments will fix things lol

You should check local ordinances before considering releasing them. Some states and localities have laws against relocating wildlife to prevent habitat disruption and prevent pest species from spreading.

If you’re steadfast in refusing to kill them, your best bet is to try to prevent them from entering as best you can. Caulk over any gaps in walls/floorboard and around and pipes or vents, no matter how small a hole seems you should cover it because they can squeeze through extremely small spaces. For larger holes you can fill them with steel wool to prevent them from coming in. It might be a bit of an up front investment but it’ll likely be cheaper over all than caring for them every year.

If she’s eating fish, she’s literally killing animals. I don’t know what failure of biology class happened, but fish are also animals, and the fishing industry kills several many animals that never make it onto your plate due to bycatch being discarded. For every fish you do eat, many more are thrown overboard as trash.

Call an exterminator and sort this shit out. It’s a health hazard, and your landlord will pay for it to get taken care of. Save the cognitive dissonance for something else.

2nding this. OP, if you hold a moral point against killing animals, you would be counterbalancing the mice with a cat. The Newark Humane Society almost always has cats that they rescue from the streets or from Animal Control, which is a kill shelter.

You would save the life of the cat and gain a companion - yes, it's a responsibility to care for a cat but it will kill and eat the mice since that's what cats do by nature. The smell of a cat will deter most mice in the future until you or your landlord can find and fix their ingress points.

Okay, start here. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/07104?category=adults&spec=9

I always use this site to find a therapist because you can filter your preferences (insurance, gender, ethnicity, etc). I have it filtered to those who say they specialize in EDs. When you pick someone, just make sure that you confirm in-network status for your insurance and eating disorder specialty.

Best of luck. I've been there, done that, and life is free on the other side.
